Curaleaf Holdings and Green Thumb Industries are two cannabis companies aggressive investors can put on an October 2026 watchlist: both reported year-over-year revenue growth and positive GAAP net income in Q2. Their results point to different strengths, not a clear winner—and they do not establish that either stock is cheap. The October 3, 2026 operating snapshot supports further due diligence, not an unconditional buy call.
How Curaleaf and Green Thumb compare in Q2 2026
The figures below are U.S. dollars from Curaleaf Holdings’ and Green Thumb Industries’ Q2 2026 releases. Revenue and income figures cover the reported quarter; cash is the balance at quarter-end. The issuers’ financial measures are not all directly comparable.

Curaleaf’s release describes adjusted EBITDA and related ratios as non-GAAP measures that are not standardized under U.S. GAAP. Green Thumb’s normalized EBITDA is also a company-defined non-GAAP measure. Their definitions and adjustments can differ, so the two figures should not be treated as interchangeable or as cash flow; review each company’s reconciliation and debt and capital structure before drawing conclusions from them.
What each company’s results may mean for an aggressive investor
Curaleaf: a faster-growth case with execution and financing risks
Curaleaf’s stronger quarterly revenue growth and higher reported gross margin may appeal to investors looking for operating momentum. Those measures do not show whether growth will persist, translate into durable cash generation, or justify the stock’s price. The company’s Q2 filing identifies risks that include regulatory and legislative change, competition, agricultural operations, leverage and debt management, share-price volatility, limited liquidity for U.S. investors, and uncertainty in forecasting.

Green Thumb: more reported cash, but margin pressure
Green Thumb ended the quarter with more cash on its balance sheet than Curaleaf and reported positive cash generated from operations. That provides a different operating profile from a faster-growth thesis, but it is not by itself proof of stronger future returns. The company attributed its year-over-year gross-margin decline principally to licensing fees and price compression, and also cited increased competition. Its Q2 filing described operations across 14 U.S. markets as of June 30, 2026; operating in multiple states does not mean unrestricted nationwide cannabis commerce.
Why the October “buy” question is still open
A company can grow revenue and report a profit while its stock remains unattractive at a particular price. As of October 3, 2026, no contemporaneous share prices, valuation multiples, analyst expectations, or price targets were verified for this comparison. Without those inputs—and an assessment of debt, share count and potential dilution—there is no evidence here to conclude that either stock is undervalued or to set a defensible target price.

- Check valuation against the current price. Compare each stock’s price with relevant earnings, cash-flow and sales measures, and understand how the company’s debt affects the equity value. Growth figures alone cannot answer whether an entry price is attractive.
- Review capital structure and dilution. Examine debt obligations, share count changes and any financing that could affect existing shareholders. The reported cash balances do not replace that analysis.
- Read the next filings and reconciliations. Look for whether revenue growth, margins and cash generation continue, and compare non-GAAP definitions with the companies’ GAAP results rather than relying on headline adjusted-profit figures.
- Account for jurisdiction-specific rules. Cannabis businesses face legal and market changes in the places where they operate. A company’s footprint is not the same as access to a single unrestricted national market.
Verdict: candidates to research, not verified buys
For an aggressive investor prioritizing reported operating growth, Curaleaf has the clearer Q2 momentum signal; for one prioritizing a larger reported cash balance and positive operating cash flow, Green Thumb offers a different case, alongside evidence of margin pressure. Neither profile settles which equity has the better return potential. Make the decision only after checking current valuation, capital structure, subsequent results and the risks relevant to each company.
Timing matters: as of the October 3, 2026 information date, Tilray had a results event scheduled for October 8, five days later. Anyone publishing or relying on this comparison after that event should refresh the peer context against Tilray’s release.
