There is an important identification caveat. The cited Home Depot product page is for a 12 FT Skelly with LCD LifeEyes, model 24SV24386, but that page’s title and feature information describe a different, non-app variant. Do not carry that listing’s price, dimensions, assembly estimate or included parts over to the app-controlled 2026 model. Check the exact model page and manual for the version you intend to buy.

The retailer’s stated dimensions are 180 inches high, 38 inches wide and 49 inches deep. Listed weight is 74 pounds. It uses outlet power through a six-foot cord and includes a one-year limited warranty. Those are the published product specifications; your usable display area still needs additional clearance for people, stakes, cords and movement.

The app-enabled Skelly’s exact footprint is not established by the cited listing, so obtain its manual or current product dimensions rather than estimating from its height.
Do not measure only the visible feet. Animated torsos, arms and heads can extend beyond the base, and viewers may approach from the sidewalk. Keep moving parts away from gates, driveways, parked cars and children’s routes. If you display both decorations, treat them as separate structures with independent access and anchoring rather than placing their frames edge to edge.

Consider what neighbors and passers-by will see
A taller figure is not automatically more effective. A low tree canopy, a house set far back from the road or a display viewed from an uphill sidewalk can change which decoration reads as larger. Sketch the sightline from the street and from nearby windows. The Watcher’s rotating upper body and lit eyes may create a stronger moving focal point in an open frontage; Skelly’s programmable behavior may be more noticeable in a tighter scene where viewers stand close.

Plan how you will operate those functions outdoors. Bluetooth range, phone battery, app compatibility and nearby wireless interference are practical concerns, but the supplied product announcement does not establish specific range, supported phone versions or weather limits. Confirm those details in the current instructions before designing a show around live voice control.
The Home Depot’s decorative holiday merchant Aubrey Horowitz described the upgrade this way: “This year is no different. From our realistically detailed collections to dynamic interactive technology like the upgraded SKELLY’s real-time, app-controlled voice modulation, we are giving our customers the tools to create their most captivating displays yet—all at an incredible value.” That is a vendor statement about the product line, not independent evidence of comparative value.

If you need an all-night loop with no trigger, verify whether the current manual offers a separate setting; the cited retailer response does not promise one.
Motion-sensor observations need context
The comparison reviewer said both decorations responded to motion. In that setup, traffic passing the house triggered the Home Depot unit, while Watcher’s torso, arms and head moved and its eyes lit the sidewalk. These are observations from one installation, not controlled tests. Your results can differ with sensor placement, street traffic, lighting, temperature, obstructions and sensitivity settings.

The Watcher carton was described as about two-thirds larger, while Lowe’s does not state its box dimensions. Treat those observations as planning data, not guaranteed packaging specifications: cartons can change between production runs and retailers may ship replacement parts separately.
Measure the actual storage route and shelf, not just the final storage spot. Check door width, stair turns, ceiling height, vehicle capacity and whether the carton can remain dry. If the original box is damaged, use a labeled, breathable storage solution that protects the frame, fabric, electronics and fasteners without compressing moving joints.

Remove outdoor dirt and moisture before packing. Let fabric dry fully, disconnect power, group screws with the relevant frame section and photograph cable routing. Keep app instructions, pairing information and warranty paperwork with the electronics. Confirm what is included and what ground types are supported.
Place anchors where they will not create a trip line or interfere with mowing. Recheck tension after the first windy night and after moving the display. Watcher makes sense when you can accommodate its listed base, tall profile, moving envelope, outlet route and anchoring points. The rotating upper body and illuminated eyes are designed to create a large visual presence without relying on user-programmed dialogue.
