Matheus Morett says Monest processes more than 100 million BullMQ jobs a day, and its team needed a dashboard that made queues easier to monitor without making Redis work harder. His account describes a progression from bull-board to Taskforce and, ultimately, Bullpane—a tool built around queue visibility, safer access controls, and bounded reads. The workload figure and product details below are Morett’s claims, not independently audited findings.
Why the existing dashboard setup stopped working for the team
In Morett’s account, Monest’s BullMQ queues sit in a workflow that begins after webhooks arrive: messages are queued, an agent drafts a reply, and Monest sends it. The team first used bull-board, protected behind a VPN and shared credentials. That arrangement let people inspect queues, but shared access left practical accountability questions unanswered: who deleted a job, and who paused a queue?

The permission problem grew along with the team. Developers needed to inspect queues, while retry and removal powers needed to remain limited to tech leads. Morett says the team next used Taskforce, which he found useful for alerts but slow and clunky in everyday work. Those are his usability impressions, not the results of a controlled comparison.

What Bullpane was designed to make easier
Morett says he built Bullpane to put queues that need attention first, make it quick to move among queues with a keyboard shortcut, and allow searches across job payloads—for example, “Which job had order 81723?” He also describes support for inspecting BullMQ Pro groups.

The article describes these additional capabilities:
- Role-based access: paid-tier roles are enforced on API calls, so access restrictions are not only a matter of hiding controls in the interface.
- Accountability: append-only audit logging records actions and can be exported as CSV.
- Authentication: OIDC or SAML single sign-on.
- Operations: configurable alerts and folders.
These are Bullpane capabilities as described by Morett; availability and terms may have changed. BullMQ’s official repository README describes Taskforce as its official frontend and lists queue overview, job inspection, search, retry, delayed-job promotion, metrics, and statistics. That description provides context for the tool Morett says the team used; it does not establish a head-to-head feature or performance comparison with Bullpane.

How the dashboard aims to limit its impact on Redis
A monitoring dashboard can become part of the operational load it is meant to observe. Morett frames that risk bluntly: “A dashboard that slows down the workload it watches is worse than no dashboard.” Bullpane’s stated design choices are intended to reduce unnecessary work on a busy Redis instance:
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →- Queue discovery uses bounded, cached SCAN rather than KEYS.
- Counts and job pages are fetched with Lua scripts using EVALSHA.
- Payloads are truncated inside Redis, rather than retrieving full large payloads and trimming them afterward.
- Writes go through the official BullMQ client.
- A read-only mode allows an initial production deployment without dashboard-initiated changes to jobs or queues.
These describe the design Morett reports, not a guarantee that every deployment will have negligible impact. Actual effects depend on workload, Redis configuration, queue shape, and how the dashboard is used.
What the reported speed figures do—and do not—show
Morett’s article reports a 7 ms time for a page of 200 jobs with 1 MB payloads, and an 8 ms time for searching across 1,000 such jobs. The article points to a STRESS-TEST.md file for figures and a hostile-load test, but the setup and test contents are not independently established here.
Treat those numbers as claims from the article, not reproducible results, universal latency expectations, or service guarantees. They may help explain why Morett prioritized bounded reads and payload handling, but they are not a substitute for testing against your own Redis workload.

Morett’s article says Bullpane’s core is free and MIT-licensed, and that Pro costs USD 39 per month per installation for unlimited users. These are article-reported terms, not verified current pricing or licensing. Check Bullpane’s current product information and license before adopting it; the article does not establish that those terms remain in force.

The headline figure refers to Monest’s workload as reported by Morett, identified on the article page as the company’s CTO and a software engineer. It is not an independently audited statistic or an industry benchmark. The account is most useful as a case study in the operational questions that emerge when a team needs queue visibility, clear responsibility for actions, and different permissions for inspection and intervention.
