T3 selected these ten products from the month’s announcements; the list is a curated roundup, not a complete inventory of every launch. Availability, compatibility and some features vary by product and market, so check the manufacturer’s current listing before buying.

Security: cameras and a video doorbell
Eufy SoloCam E50
T3 describes the SoloCam E50 as a camera with a motorized pan-and-tilt head, two 4K lenses, and an integrated solar panel. In that report, one lens has a 135-degree view and the other is a telephoto lens. These are roundup-reported specifications, rather than details independently confirmed by an Eufy release in the available sources.

Shelly Camera
T3 reports that Shelly’s wired indoor camera records at 1080p, offers black-and-white night vision, and covers 110 degrees horizontally and 70 degrees vertically. It also reports motion detection and the ability to trigger automations on other devices. Confirm the current listing for final specifications and supported integrations.
SimpliSafe Video Doorbell Series 2
T3 says the doorbell’s AI detection can work with SimpliSafe Active Guard Outdoor Protection: live agents can use the doorbell’s video, audio and siren and call emergency services. The live-agent feature requires a SimpliSafe Pro or Pro Plus subscription. It is therefore important to distinguish the doorbell hardware from the paid service that enables that response.

Lighting: a rope light, TV sync kit and ceiling fixture
Philips Hue Liane 360° Rope Light
Signify describes the Liane as a flexible light that emits continuous illumination around its circumference using OmniGlow technology. Signify listed it as available from September 3, 2026, in Europe, the UK and North America, with a starting price of £379.99/€429.99. Prices and availability are market-specific.
Philips Screen Sync with Strip Light
T3 describes this kit as a camera-based system: a fisheye camera reads colors on the television and coordinates them with a four-sided RGBIC strip. The reported size options are for 40–50-inch and 55–65-inch TVs. Do not confuse it with Philips Hue Play Screen Sync, a separate Hue product announced by Signify. Screen Sync with Strip Light is identified by T3 as Philips Smart Lighting, not Philips Hue.

Its DaySync feature is reported to adjust lighting automatically according to time and weather. Treat these as T3-reported product figures and features, and verify the final specification for the model sold in your market.

Climate control: Tado Smart Thermostat X (2nd gen)
T3 reports a 17.8 mm profile, a rechargeable battery and an LCD that displays temperature and humidity. It says the thermostat is compatible with boilers, heat pumps and underfloor heating, but those broad categories do not establish that it will fit every system. Check Tado’s current compatibility information for your exact heating setup, country and installation requirements before choosing it. T3 calls it the “thinnest smart thermostat on the market”; that comparative claim is not independently established here.

Presence sensing: Aqara Spatial Sensor FP400
T3 reports that the FP400 uses 60GHz mmWave radar and AI, can track up to ten people, and can trigger lighting in response to movement. Aqara’s September 2026 update says the sensor’s feature set changed after its earlier CES announcement and directs users to current product specifications. For that reason, older CES descriptions should not be treated as a definitive list of what the shipping product does. The available information here does not establish that the FP400 itself is Matter compatible.
Lighting control: IKEA Dubbelkisel Driver
T3 says the Dubbelkisel Driver makes IKEA integrated lighting remotely controllable through the IKEA Home smart app, supports Matter, and works with the Dirigera Hub and Bilresa remote. T3 reports availability in select European countries, not worldwide. Check local IKEA listings and the specific lighting setup before assuming it is available or suitable where you live.

Entry security: SwitchBot Lock Ultra Max Vision Pro Combo
T3 describes this bundle as the Lock Ultra Max, Keypad Vision Pro and Hub Mini, designed for European retrofit locks. The roundup reports 19 unlocking methods, including fingerprint, palm-vein and 3D facial recognition, up to nine months of battery life, and automatic relocking. Those capabilities and the battery figure are T3-reported claims; check the current regional product page and confirm that the lock fits your door before purchase.
How to compare the launches
- Start with the job. A doorbell, thermostat, TV lighting kit and presence sensor solve different problems; compare alternatives within the same category before weighing unrelated features.
- Check the ecosystem and protocol. Matter support is reported for the IKEA driver, while Aqara says its separate IFA 2026 lighting family supports Thread, Zigbee and Matter. Do not assume those claims apply to the FP400 sensor or every product from either brand.
- Match installation to the home. Confirm the thermostat’s compatibility with the heating system, the SwitchBot lock’s fit with the existing lock, and the TV lighting kit’s size range before buying.
- Check service and geography. SimpliSafe’s live-agent doorbell response is subscription-dependent; IKEA’s driver is reported only in select European countries; and Signify states that product availability varies by market.
- Separate hardware from later software. Signify’s September 3 announcement listed some Hue features as future or in development rather than available at launch. It described Custom AI Behaviors as an early-October feature for Bridge Pro users in supported languages, Back-up & Restore as still in development, and Sonos integration as a future November software update. Actual rollout and local availability may differ.
Other September announcements from Aqara and Signify
Beyond the ten products in T3’s selection, Aqara announced a new lighting family at IFA in Berlin on September 4, 2026: Floor Lamp T1, LED Downlight T2, LED Strip T2, Outdoor String Lights H1 and Permanent Outdoor Lights H1. Aqara says the lineup supports Thread and Zigbee, is Matter-enabled, and works with Apple Home, Home Assistant, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings and Homey. Those are Aqara’s interoperability claims. Aqara lists the Floor Lamp T1 as 1,420 mm tall, with 18 individually controllable zones, tunable white light from 2,000K to 9,000K and up to 1,000 lumens.

Signify’s September 3 announcement also covered Hue Play Screen Sync, which uses a camera to capture the TV display and synchronizes compatible lights with native smart-TV apps, broadcast television and HDMI sources. Signify says its 4K HDMI sync box is intended for HDMI-based setups. It listed Play Screen Sync from £109.99/€119.99 and the 4K HDMI sync box from £134.99/€149.99, both available from September 3, 2026. Play gradient strips were listed from £89.88/€99.99 from September 15. Signify says a gradient strip can synchronize over Bluetooth without a Hue Bridge; adding a Bridge or Bridge Pro can expand the arrangement to as many as ten lights. These are distinct options within the Hue range and should not be conflated with Philips Smart Lighting’s camera-and-strip TV kit.
Signify’s announcement additionally covered new Signe fixtures, Festavia curtain, net and icicle formats, outdoor fixtures, and a Nanoleaf Shapes integration through a Hue Wall Light Module. It said software and product availability varies by market.
