The table reproduces the role titles, locations and advertised annual salary ranges as printed by DevOps.com. The roundup does not explain how employers determine the ranges or provide a compensation methodology, so the figures should not be treated as directly comparable offers. How to compare the roles

Start with the technical emphasis

The titles point to different specializations rather than one uniform DevOps job. Datadog’s opening names CI/CD security; Motional and Toast focus on release engineering; Divergent explicitly uses the DevSecOps title. GitLab’s title emphasizes core DevOps, while Scale AI names infrastructure and security. The other titles include broader DevOps engineering or systems engineering.

Check location and remote eligibility

The roundup labels only GitLab and Toast as “Remote, US.” The remaining entries name a US city and state. Confirm the employer’s current location policy and eligibility details in the live posting; a location label in a dated roundup is not a guarantee of remote availability or a particular work arrangement.

Read salary ranges as listing-specific

The reported ranges differ substantially: Appian’s is $100,000–$200,000, while OpenAI’s is $318,000–$485,000. They are the roundup’s advertised figures, not a market survey or verified compensation offers. Employer practices, location and role requirements may affect what a particular candidate is offered; the source does not detail those factors or explain its pay-range methodology.

What “great” means in this roundup

Mike Vizard says the weekly selection considers the hiring company, industry vertical and pay scale. DevOps.com does not publish a scoring method or explain why each individual role made this particular list, so “great” reflects the roundup’s editorial selection rather than a documented ranking. It is a snapshot of ten postings, not a comprehensive survey of DevOps employment or a measure of the whole job market. Read the October 5, 2026 article for the roundup’s selection description.
