Overview

TheySaid is a web platform for gathering user and employee feedback through tests, interviews, surveys, polls, and other formats. It suits product and UX teams that want AI-guided research alongside analysis, especially when they need more than a fixed questionnaire. Its free plan is a useful way to start, but one active test at a time and extra panel-recruiting costs can limit how far teams can take it without upgrading.

Key features

The AI moderator guides participants through tests, follows up on their answers, and adjusts questions in real time. Two-way voice and conditional logic make sessions more adaptable than a standard survey, while support for more than 70 languages can help teams collect feedback across markets. Teams can distribute studies through links, in-app pop-ups, website embeds, email, and QR codes, or recruit through participant panels.

AI analytics summarizes themes, findings, and recommendations, and users can explore project insights conversationally. Outputs can include task-completion and time-on-task metrics, recurring issues, highlight clips, and prioritized recommendations. Sentiment analysis and API access are supported. Salesforce, Slack, HubSpot, and Zendesk are listed as workflow tools; Zoho, Mailchimp, Calendly, Dropbox, and Zapier are marked as coming soon.

Security measures include TLS 1.2 encryption in transit, AES encryption at rest, and GDPR data deletion support. The security page displays SOC 2, SOC 3, and EU GDPR, and says the company conducts regular security reviews and penetration testing.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per month and includes 5 AI user tests and 50 AI surveys per month, one workspace, and one active test. That is enough to try the core workflow or run a small, focused study, but the active-test cap means teams cannot keep several studies running at once. The separately stated response limit is 250 per month. Recruiting from TheySaid’s panel costs extra, and panel access with demographic targeting is an Enterprise feature.

Paid plans start at $49/mo. Plans are billed annually by default; monthly billing is available at 33% more. The paid-from price is a starting point, so teams should weigh their expected response volume and recruiting needs against the Free plan’s limits before committing.

Enterprise has custom pricing and is billed annually. It includes user tests, interviews, surveys, and polls; panel and AI tester recruiting; SSO/SAML; a custom API and webhooks; CRM integrations; a dedicated account manager; and priority support with an SLA. It is the fit for organizations that need managed support, recruiting options, or enterprise access controls, rather than a small team simply testing the product.

Platforms

TheySaid is available on the web, so teams can work in a browser. Feedback can be gathered through links, email, embeds, pop-ups, and QR codes as well as panels.

Who it's for

Product managers, UX designers, UX researchers, and product teams improving usability are the clearest fit. The combination of moderated tests, surveys, and analysis can support teams that want to gather and interpret feedback in one workflow. It is less suitable for teams that need multiple concurrent studies on a free plan or depend on demographic panel recruiting without an Enterprise budget.

Pros and cons

Pros: Multiple feedback formats and adaptive AI moderation support richer research than a static survey alone.
Pros: Analysis can surface themes, recommendations, task metrics, recurring issues, and highlight clips, giving teams several ways to act on feedback.
Pros: More than 70 languages and a range of distribution methods give teams flexibility in reaching participants.
Cons: The free plan permits only one workspace and one active test, limiting parallel work.
Cons: Panel recruiting costs extra, and demographic targeting through panels is reserved for Enterprise.
Cons: Several listed workflow integrations are still marked as coming soon.

Alternatives

For a broad survey tool with a clearly stated free allowance, Qualtrics offers one user, three active surveys, and 500 total responses on its free plan; choose it when those survey limits matter more than TheySaid’s AI-guided testing formats. Alchemer is another freemium option, with a Collaborator plan that states 75,000 annual responses; it may suit teams prioritizing a stated response allowance. QuestionPro has a free Essentials plan for one user, 200 responses per survey, and 30 question types, while its Advanced plan is 99.00 USD per month billed annually; consider it when those survey-specific limits fit better.

Qwary is a freemium option with a free trial and a Starter plan at 199.00 USD per month billed annually, including one active Converse AI per month, two video feedback sessions per month, and three active digital experiences per month. Alida is a paid alternative with a fixed subscription-based price and unlimited surveys, usability tests, and research activities, with no per-participant fees stated. Chattermill uses custom pricing, while InMoment is a paid option available on Android, iOS, and the web. Feedbackly is paid, has a free trial, and starts with a Single plan at 249.00 EUR per month billed monthly for 5,000 responses per year and one user.

Verdict

TheySaid is a strong fit for product and UX teams that want AI-moderated feedback collection paired with conversational analysis and actionable test outputs. Its range of formats, languages, and distribution channels gives teams room to shape research around their participants. Look elsewhere if you need several active studies on a free plan or predictable, included panel recruiting: the free tier is tightly capped, and demographic panel targeting requires Enterprise.
