Overview

Stepsi brings dance-school scheduling, member bookings, attendance and payments into one platform for children’s schools, adult recreational studios, and competition, recital and classical programs. It is strongest for studios that want to coordinate classes and member transactions together; its free tier is small, and the published paid tiers still cap active members.

Key features

Classes and studio operations

Studios can schedule one-time and recurring classes across multiple calendars, manage rooms and instructors, track attendance, and handle bookings and waitlists through a member booking portal. That breadth makes Stepsi a practical fit for schools juggling several classes and operational tasks. The active-member measure is based on purchases in the past 30 days—membership, tuition or class entrance—so capacity planning should account for recent buyers rather than the full student roster.

Payments and connections

Stepsi handles one-time and recurring payments for memberships, tuition, bookings, shop purchases and video content. Apple Pay and Google Pay are supported, and Stepsi says payment processing complies with PCI requirements. Studios can optionally connect Google or Microsoft email accounts to send messages through a connected mailbox.

Privacy and support

Stepsi says it does not sell, trade or rent collected information, and that data is hosted by providers in the United States. It describes SSL-secured service-data exchanges and says passwords are encrypted and hashed with individual salts rather than stored in its database. Setup support is available through the Help section in the web or mobile app or by email.

Pricing

Stepsi has a free plan and paid plans billed monthly on an annual commitment. The displayed plans include the application’s listed features, but branded mobile apps and unlimited members are unavailable on those plans.

Free: Up to 25 active members. The low cap makes it suitable for a small studio evaluating the core offering, but it can be restrictive as enrollment grows.
Plus: €30.00 per year, billed per month (paid annually), for up to 100 active members. It is the entry paid tier for small studios whose recent purchasers exceed the free limit.
Grow: €60.00 per year, billed per month (paid annually), for up to 250 active members. This adds room for a larger active community without moving to a high-capacity tier.
Pro: €130.00 per year, billed per month (paid annually), for up to 600 active members. It suits established studios with substantially more recent buyers.
Max: €260.00 per year, billed per month (paid annually), for up to 1,500 active members. This is the largest published fixed-capacity tier.
Custom: Custom pricing, billed per month (paid annually), with unlimited members; contact Stepsi for an offer. It is the option for schools that exceed Max’s member ceiling.

There is no free trial. The paid tiers’ annual billing and active-member thresholds are important trade-offs: studios must choose capacity according to recent purchasing activity, while branded mobile apps are not included on the displayed plans.

Platforms

Stepsi is available on Android, iOS and the web, giving studios and members access across mobile and browser environments.

Who it's for

Stepsi is aimed at children’s dance schools, adult recreational studios, competition and recital schools, and pre-professional or classical programs. It is a better fit for organizations that need both recurring class administration and payment collection than for studios seeking unlimited member capacity at a published fixed price.

Pros and cons

Pro: Scheduling, attendance, instructor and room management, waitlists and member bookings sit alongside payments, reducing the need to piece together these studio functions.
Pro: One-time and recurring charges cover several studio revenue types, including tuition, shop purchases and video content.
Con: The free plan’s 25-active-member ceiling is based on purchases during the last 30 days, which may be a poor match for a studio with many active recent buyers.
Con: Branded mobile apps and unlimited members are unavailable on the displayed plans, and the paid tiers are billed annually.

Alternatives

Kananas is worth considering if a 50-contact free plan or its paid plan starting at $99.00 USD per year and 250 contacts better matches your scale.
Class Manager offers a free plan with no monthly subscription, using a flat service charge for online payments and tailored pricing for high volumes.
StudioPartner has a free plan capped at 30 students, with four membership plans and 90 days of attendance history.
OttoDance is another dance-software option with an organization-funded plan whose pricing is custom and based on transaction volume.
DanceTide is another freemium option available on the web.
ClassJuggler is a paid alternative with a free trial and a separate $10.00 USD-per-month customer portal add-on.
DanceBiz is a paid alternative with a free trial and a Biz50 plan at $24.95 USD per month for up to 50 active customers.
Experience Dance is another freemium option available on the web.

Verdict

Stepsi is a strong choice for dance studios that want class operations, member booking and diverse payment collection under one roof, with capacity tiers for growing schools. Look elsewhere if you need branded mobile apps on a displayed plan, cannot commit to annual billing, or need more than 1,500 active members without moving to custom pricing.
