Overview

Safesite is a workplace safety platform for organizations coordinating inspections, incident records, and ongoing safety programs. It is best suited to teams that need field activity connected to management reporting. Its free plan lowers the barrier to adoption, but the 30-day reporting limit and prerequisites for mobile access deserve attention.

Teams can use it to schedule inspections, raise hazards, record observations, inspect equipment, run meetings, and document incidents. The same system also supports corrective actions, safety training, and hazard assessments, making it a stronger fit for a broad safety program than for a team seeking only a single-purpose checklist.

Key features

Field work and inspections

Users can schedule and track inspections, create safety tasks, and use or customize compliance checklists. That combination helps connect routine checks with follow-up actions rather than leaving inspection records isolated. Safesite also covers meetings, observations, hazards, and equipment inspections, though teams with narrow needs may not benefit from the platform’s wider scope.

Incident records and oversight

Incident reports can capture information, notify stakeholders, and be added to an OSHA log. Management reporting includes leading-indicator analytics, a Safesite Score, and compliance reporting. Together, these tools link field documentation with program oversight; the free plan’s short reporting window, however, limits how far back managers can review activity.

Offline use, languages, and security

Safesite says its core features work offline and saved work syncs when connectivity returns, which suits sites where network access is intermittent. The app supports English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese. Safesite says customer data is encrypted in transit with TLS/SSL and at rest in its AWS-hosted database, and that independent security researchers conduct ongoing penetration testing, security scans, and threat detection.

Pricing

Safesite uses a freemium model, with a 30-day trial for paid access. The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and allows unlimited members and guests. That makes it a practical starting point for organizations wanting broad participation without subscription fees, but reporting is restricted to the last 30 days.

Premium costs 16.00 USD per month, billed per member, per month. Monthly or annual billing is offered, with a 20% annual discount. It adds unrestricted reporting, group reporting, and an OSHA 300 recordable incident log. Premium is the better fit when managers need longer reporting history or group-level views; per-member billing means costs rise with the number of members.

Insurance Services has custom pricing; organizations are directed to ask their broker about Foresight. It includes workers’ compensation and Premium features, making it relevant to buyers looking to combine those services with the software. Free accounts receive English- and Spanish-language support for the first 30 days; Premium or Enterprise subscribers receive ongoing premium support.

Platforms

Safesite is available on Android, iOS, and the web. Mobile apps are offered through the Apple App Store and Google Play, with a browser-based mobile interface as another option. An organization administrator must first create an account through the desktop portal before mobile users can join projects. New users outside the US, Canada, Brazil, and Mexico cannot download the app from app stores and are directed to the browser interface instead. That makes browser access important for teams outside those countries or without an administrator-led setup.

Who it's for

Safesite is a sensible choice for organizations that need field teams and managers to share inspection, hazard, and incident workflows, particularly where offline access matters. The free plan can serve teams with modest historical reporting needs. Organizations that depend on older reporting records, or that expect immediate app-store onboarding across a distributed international workforce, should weigh Premium’s per-member cost and the mobile access constraints before committing.

Pros and cons

Broad safety coverage: Inspections, meetings, hazards, observations, equipment checks, incidents, training, and corrective actions sit within one platform.
Works offline: Core features and automatic syncing support field work where connectivity is unreliable.
Free access scales by membership: The Free plan allows unlimited members and guests, but its reporting reaches back only 30 days.
Mobile onboarding has dependencies: An administrator must create the organization account in the desktop portal first, and app-store downloads are unavailable to new users outside four countries.
Premium costs scale per member: Unrestricted and group reporting plus the OSHA 300 log are useful upgrades, but the monthly rate is charged per member.

Alternatives

For broader discovery, compare Safety Management Software, Inspection Management Software, and Checklist Software.

Injury Management System is another freemium option with a free plan and web and iOS support; consider it when comparing injury-management software. HCSS is a paid option across Android, iOS, web, Windows, and API, with custom-quote pricing that requires company type and role. EcoOnline, Enablon, Evotix, and SafetyFirst are paid alternatives available on web, iOS, and Android. ShipManager Crewing is a paid option without a free plan, available on web, iOS, and Android. SpheraCloud is a paid alternative with web support.

Verdict

Choose Safesite if your organization wants field safety workflows, offline capability, and management reporting in one platform, and can work within its mobile setup requirements. The free plan is a low-commitment way to start, but teams needing a longer reporting history must move to Premium; organizations needing app-store access beyond the supported countries should plan around the browser interface.
