Overview

Veterical is veterinary practice software for clinics that want patient care, appointment management and day-to-day administration in one workspace. It is best suited to teams that need clinical records alongside billing, inventory and online booking; clinics should weigh its documented security limitation before adopting it.

Key features

Animal records bring histories, vaccinations, allergies, treatments, prescriptions and clinical notes together. Species-aware patient information and weight-based treatment workflows make the clinical side more relevant to veterinary care than a generic appointment calendar.

The calendar coordinates veterinarians, rooms and procedures, while online booking uses real-time availability and can send confirmations and reminders. Automatic reminders also support appointment follow-through. This combination can reduce the gap between scheduling and clinic operations, though clinics choosing software primarily for booking may not need its broader clinical and financial scope.

Teams can prepare estimates and invoices, record payments, and track medications and supplies within the patient workflow. Reporting is also included. One account can cover multiple locations, with staff, rooms, schedules and role-based access, making the package a better fit for multi-clinic operations than a single-purpose booking tool.

Veterical supports importing client and animal data, and its support team can help plan a migration from spreadsheets or another practice system. Its REST API documents clients, patients, appointments, invoices, payments and vaccinations, with clinic-scoped keys, scopes and per-key rate limits. New keys are read-only, and signed webhooks are documented. The hosted OAuth 2.0 MCP connector is also read-only, and cannot access animal or owner records or clinical notes, so it is not a route to automate clinical data access.

The privacy policy describes secured networks with limited access, SSL encryption for sensitive or credit information, and card transactions handled by an external PCI-compliant gateway. It also states that the maker does not use vulnerability or malware scanning. That limitation is a material concern for clinics assessing how to entrust the service with sensitive records.

Pricing

Veterical is freemium and offers a Free plan at no cost. The plan is a natural starting point for clinics evaluating the software or seeking a no-cost option. No feature, seat, booking, or usage caps are stated for the plan, so its practical fit for a larger or busier clinic cannot be judged from its price alone.

Clinics should confirm which capabilities and usage limits apply before relying on it for a full practice.

Platforms

Veterical is listed for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS, and the maker says it works in modern web browsers. Cloud access is described across desktop, tablet and mobile, and the service is available in 96 languages. An API is also listed, with documented REST endpoints and clinic-scoped keys.

Who it's for

Veterical is strongest for veterinary clinics that want clinical records, scheduling, billing and inventory tied together, especially those operating multiple locations or planning a data migration. Online booking and reminders suit practices that want clients to book against current availability. Clinics that only need a basic booking page, or that require vulnerability and malware scanning, should consider alternatives.

Pros and cons

Pros: Clinical histories and treatment workflows sit alongside scheduling, billing and inventory, giving staff a connected practice workspace.
Pros: Online booking, reminders and multi-location role-based access address both client scheduling and larger clinic operations.
Pros: Import support and a documented API offer routes for migration and integrations; API keys begin read-only and can be scoped and rate-limited.
Cons: The privacy policy says vulnerability and malware scanning are not used, a notable limitation for clinics handling sensitive records.
Cons: The MCP connector cannot access animal or owner records or clinical notes, restricting its usefulness for clinical automation.

Alternatives

For a broader set of appointment-scheduling options, browse Veterinary Appointment Scheduling Software. SchedulingKit is worth considering for a small team focused on bookings: its free plan allows one team member, one event type and 50 bookings per month. AllEars.Vet may suit clinics seeking a consultation- and messaging-oriented free tier, with monthly limits of 10 consultations, 20 patients, 150 chat messages and 10 prescriptions.

EasyWeek for Veterinary Clinics is an option for clinics prioritizing basic booking, with a free-forever plan for essential features and basic booking functionality; its Pro plan is 8.33 USD per month, billed per month. NaVetor may appeal to a practice using Patterson payment services: its Patterson Pay plan offers full feature access at no cost when using those services, subject to transaction-volume eligibility.

Reservio offers a simpler booking-and-client option, with 40 bookings per 30 days and 100 clients on its free plan. Bookerva is another lightweight booking choice: its free Starter plan permits up to 50 bookings per month, one staff member and one location, with a branded booking page and email reminders.

Provet Cloud is a paid alternative for clinics considering a web-based veterinary platform; its Core plan is 99.00 USD per month and its Core platform fee is 249.00 USD per month. Vetster for Clinics is another paid option for clinics seeking veterinary clinic software across web and mobile.

Verdict

Veterical is a compelling fit for clinics that want clinical records, scheduling, payments and inventory coordinated in one system, with online booking and multi-clinic access as useful extensions. Its free plan lowers the barrier to getting started, but the unclear plan limits and the stated absence of vulnerability and malware scanning are reasons to look elsewhere or seek clarification before entrusting it with a clinic's records.
