Overview

Search by container number, bill of lading, or booking reference, then view shipment status, location, milestone history, estimated arrival, vessel route, and exception alerts. Carrier identification from a container number’s owner prefix reduces the work of finding the right carrier. Panvaya’s firm boundary is coverage: unsupported carriers produce an availability message rather than a partial record. That avoids implying visibility it cannot provide, but can leave gaps in mixed-carrier operations.

Shipment links can be shared publicly or protected with a password, useful for giving customers or partners shipment visibility. Sailing schedules, port congestion monitoring, route planning, carbon estimates, and demurrage and detention tools broaden the product beyond tracking. Ocean and intermodal tracking, ETA predictions, and exception alerts are also supported.

Key features

The REST API and webhooks are intended to connect tracking with TMS and ERP workflows. API keys default to 10 requests per minute; enterprise accounts can request higher limits. Error and not-found responses do not consume credits, a practical safeguard when integrations make lookups that return no usable shipment.

Panvaya says it uses AWS hosting, TLS encryption, access controls, and organization-level data separation. It also says it does not sell or rent customer content or use private customer content to train AI models. AWS compliance reports apply to in-scope AWS services and are not themselves a Panvaya SOC 2 attestation. Enterprise support is described as having guaranteed ticket resolution and triage time under 24 hours.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and is billed always free. It includes five ocean shipments, 10 developer API credits, live AIS vessel tracking, a port congestion monitor, a marine route planner, and standard email support. It is a sensible way to evaluate basic use, but the five-shipment allowance is restrictive for a live operation, and 10 API credits leave little room for sustained integration activity.

Premium costs 50.00 USD per once, a one-time purchase for 30 days of access. It raises the allowance to up to 100 shipments and adds 55+ ocean carriers, route map data, fleet control tower and analytics, demurrage and 3D load calculators, CSV and PDF exports, and priority support. This is the clearer fit for a small team needing richer operational tools and exports, but its 30-day term is not a recurring monthly plan, and the 100-container limit may rule it out for larger fleets.

Enterprise has custom pricing, with one-time purchase access for 30 days and final terms confirmed in a proposal. Its custom allocation is 2 shipments plus 120 credits per $1 USD; it also includes 15+ APIs, dual shipment and credit quotas, rollover credits, custom rate limits and SLAs, a dedicated account manager, and corporate invoicing. That structure suits teams with integration or service-level requirements beyond Premium, though buyers will need a proposal to establish final terms.

Platforms

Panvaya is available on the web and through an API. Its API and webhook approach is useful for workflow integration, while the stated default rate limit of 10 requests per minute may be restrictive for higher-volume use unless enterprise limits are arranged.

Who it's for

Freight forwarders and cargo owners can use shipment views and sharing to coordinate visibility; logistics software developers can connect milestones to TMS and ERP systems. It is less suitable where required carriers are unsupported or shipment volume exceeds the plan allocation. Panvaya is headquartered in Noida, India.

Pros and cons

Pros: Searches accept container numbers, bills of lading, and booking references, with shipment status, route, ETA, milestone history, and exceptions in one view.
Pros: The toolset extends to congestion monitoring, route planning, carbon estimates, and demurrage and detention calculations.
Pros: Error and not-found API responses do not consume credits, and shipment links can be password-protected.
Cons: Unsupported carriers receive no partial tracking, so coverage gaps can undermine a consolidated workflow.
Cons: The free tier allows only five ocean shipments and 10 API credits; Premium’s 100-shipment limit may also constrain growing operations.
Cons: Premium buys 30 days of access for a one-time payment, so it should not be mistaken for a monthly recurring subscription.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison, see Container Tracking Software. Choose Hapag-Lloyd Live Position when the shipment leg is Carrier Haulage, which adds Live Position automatically; its Merchant Haulage plan is 15.00 USD per U.

Mati Logistics is worth comparing if a free allowance of 10 shipments with an account or three lookups without one is more useful; its free track-and-trace plan has no API. Terminal49 may suit a small team that values up to 10 active containers, three users, basic notifications, and 50 document credits on its free plan.

Tracktainer is an option for a very small starting allowance of three free tracking credits forever, with volume-based monthly pricing at 1.00 USD per month and a 10-credit minimum. Consider project44 Ocean Visibility when 150+ ocean carrier and forwarder connections are the priority; its Ocean Visibility plan is custom pricing.

SeaRates Container Tracking offers a per-container API pricing model with monthly or yearly billing and annual volume discounts. Shippeo is another paid platform option. GoComet is another paid option with a free plan.

Verdict

Choose Panvaya if you need ocean shipment visibility, planning tools, and API or webhook connections in one service, and its carrier coverage and plan limits fit your operation. Its free tier provides a low-commitment starting point, but small quotas and a 30-day Premium term make it important to check expected volume before relying on it. Look elsewhere if you need tracking for unsupported carriers or a larger allowance than the stated plans provide.
