Overview

Patch My PC is an application packaging, deployment, and update platform for managed Windows and macOS devices. It is best suited to IT teams already using Microsoft management products, where its integrations and curated catalog can reduce recurring application maintenance. Personal Windows users have a separate free option, but it is non-commercial only.

Key features

Publisher integrates with Microsoft ConfigMgr, Intune, and WSUS; Patch My PC Cloud is a SaaS portal aimed primarily at Intune customers and can also extend ConfigMgr. This makes the product a natural fit for organizations invested in those tools, but a weaker choice for teams seeking a standalone, platform-neutral workflow.

The catalog covers 3,782 supported products, and the company aims to release updates on the day vendors publish them, generally between 1:00 and 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. A broad catalog and prompt update cadence can reduce routine packaging work, though the same-day timing is a goal rather than a guarantee.

Publisher creates application packages for x86, x64, and ARM64. Cloud can build custom packages and publish them to ConfigMgr or Intune; it can also create and publish macOS DMG and PKG applications to Intune for Intel and Apple Silicon. Those capabilities make the platform more useful for mixed Windows and Mac fleets than a Windows-only updater.

Patch My PC says it holds ISO 27001:2022 certification and a SOC 2 Type 2 report, and uses encryption, access controls, and security practices embedded in its software development lifecycle. Enterprise subscriptions include unlimited support from in-house engineers, setup assistance, and environment reviews—meaning the subscription includes help with deployment and ongoing use, not just the software.

Pricing

The business trial lasts 30 days and includes all features and supported products, giving teams a substantial evaluation period before committing. Enterprise pricing starts at $3,500/year for up to 1,000 devices.

Plan	Price	What it includes	Best fit
Home Updater	0.00 USD per free	Free updater for 64-bit Windows 10 or later and Windows Server 2016 or later; non-commercial use only.	Home users who need an updater for personal devices, not an organization.
Enterprise Plus	3.50 USD per year; billed $3.5 /device/year, starts at $3,500/year for up to 1,000 devices	Windows and macOS; ConfigMgr, Intune, and WSUS; basic reporting.	Organizations needing core third-party application management through Microsoft tools.
Enterprise Premium	5.00 USD per year; billed $5 /device/year, starts at $5,000/year for up to 1,000 devices	Everything in Enterprise Plus, plus advanced reporting, CVE visibility, real-time ConfigMgr actions, and device health.	Teams that need the additional reporting, vulnerability visibility, and device-management capabilities.

Plus gives up Premium's advanced reporting, CVE visibility, real-time ConfigMgr actions, and device health. Both enterprise tiers use a starting price that covers up to 1,000 devices; organizations exceeding that device limit should look elsewhere or confirm an appropriate arrangement before choosing. Home Updater is not a lower-cost commercial tier.

Platforms

Enterprise plans support Windows and macOS, while Home Updater supports 64-bit Windows 10 or later and Windows Server 2016 or later. Cloud's macOS publishing targets Intune and supports both Intel and Apple Silicon applications. The platform's stated management integrations are ConfigMgr, Intune, and WSUS.

Who it's for

Patch My PC suits IT teams managing a sizable application estate through Microsoft's management stack, especially when they need broad third-party coverage, package creation, and support for Windows and macOS. Premium is the stronger fit when CVE visibility, advanced reporting, real-time ConfigMgr actions, or device health matter; Plus is the more focused option when basic reporting is sufficient. It is not the right fit for commercial users seeking a free plan or teams that do not use the supported Microsoft management products.

Pros and cons

Pros: A 3,782-product catalog and a same-day update goal can cut the burden of maintaining third-party application packages.
Pros: Support for ConfigMgr, Intune, and WSUS, with Windows and macOS coverage, suits Microsoft-managed mixed-device fleets.
Pros: Custom package creation, architecture support through ARM64, and macOS DMG and PKG publishing cover more than routine catalog updates.
Cons: Enterprise pricing starts at $3,500/year, a significant entry point for smaller teams.
Cons: Home Updater is restricted to non-commercial use and supported Windows versions, so it is not a free route for business device management.
Cons: The business offering is centered on ConfigMgr, Intune, and WSUS, limiting its fit for teams seeking another management ecosystem.

Alternatives

For a free, open-source cross-platform option, UniGetUI is worth considering instead of an enterprise subscription. Topgrade is another free option for Linux, macOS, and Windows, delivered as an open-source CLI. AppGeek is free for home and work on Windows and has no Pro tier, which may suit readers who want a free Windows option.

Windows users considering a free updater can also compare Avira Software Updater, whose free tier provides manual update links. Karate is a free Windows software update tool. Ketarin is a free, open-source Windows alternative whose functionality users can extend.

IObit Uninstaller is for Windows app removal rather than managed application patching, so it is the more relevant choice when uninstalling software is the need. Avira Phantom VPN Free is a Windows VPN, not a patch-management substitute.

Verdict

Choose Patch My PC if your organization manages Windows or macOS devices through ConfigMgr, Intune, or WSUS and wants a broad catalog, packaging tools, and enterprise support under one subscription. The main reason to look elsewhere is the $3,500/year starting commitment—or the Microsoft-centered workflow if that does not match your environment.
