Overview

NextMe gives businesses a way to manage physical lines digitally, with guests joining a branded waitlist by QR code, kiosk tablet, or business website. Staff can handle appointments alongside walk-ins, making it a sensible fit for operations where both types of arrival need to share a queue.

Its stated markets include events, retail, hospitality, healthcare, urgent care, veterinary clinics, salons, barbershops, and other service businesses. The FAQ says the system supports events from 1,000 to over 100,000 attendees, so the intended scope extends well beyond small daily queues.

Key features

Waitlist and guest communication

Predictive wait times, live status updates, repeat-guest recognition, custom fields, and custom queues give teams tools to organize arrivals around their workflow. Two-way SMS lets guests and staff communicate during the wait. That is useful when arrivals need updates without standing in line, though the monthly SMS allowance is a real operating constraint: the free tier allows 100 messages, while Starter and Business allow 3,000 and 5,000 respectively.

Appointments and reporting

Appointments can sit alongside walk-ins, with booking confirmations and reminders sent by text. This makes NextMe more useful than a walk-in-only queue for businesses managing both scheduled and unscheduled visits, but those texts also draw on the plan's SMS capacity. The analytics dashboard covers guest volume, wait times, peak periods, and queue performance, with CSV and Excel exports for teams that want to work with the data elsewhere.

Integrations and privacy

NextMe offers integrations and a private API, with a public API coming soon. Its privacy policy says subscriber data is encrypted at rest and that it does not sell personally identifiable information or protected health information. Data anonymization and deletion controls are available, and anonymized data can preserve access to aggregate statistics.

Pricing

NextMe is freemium and offers a free 14-day trial. The free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes 100 SMS per month for one user. That is enough to assess a small operation, but a single seat and limited messaging leave little room for a team or sustained guest updates.

Starter costs 59.99 USD per month or 49.99 USD per year, billed annually for a yearly savings of $120. It includes 3,000 SMS per month and five users, making it the more practical entry point for a small team that needs shared access. Business costs 99.99 USD per month or 79.99 USD per year, billed annually for a yearly savings of $240; its 5,000 monthly SMS and 10 users suit larger teams or higher message volumes. Both paid tiers expand capacity, but the SMS caps remain important for businesses sending frequent updates and reminders.

Custom pricing applies to the Custom plan, which offers flexible limits and users. Custom plan customers receive one-to-one onboarding and product training; event support packages can include guaranteed response times and after-hours coverage.

Platforms

NextMe is available on Android, iOS, and web, giving teams and guests access across mobile and browser platforms.

Who it's for

NextMe is a strong fit for service businesses that need to coordinate walk-ins, appointments, and guest updates in one queue workflow. Its event support range may also interest organizers handling large crowds. Businesses with several staff should budget for a paid tier, while operations that depend on substantial SMS volume should compare expected monthly messaging with the plan caps before committing.

It is less compelling for a solo operator with occasional arrivals who does not need text communication, or for a team whose message demand would outgrow even the 5,000-SMS Business allowance.

Pros and cons

Flexible guest entry: QR code, kiosk, and website check-in give guests multiple ways to join without relying on staff to enter every arrival.
Walk-ins and appointments together: Text confirmations and reminders complement queue handling for businesses serving both booked and unscheduled guests.
Useful queue analytics: Wait-time, volume, peak-period, and performance reporting can be exported to CSV or Excel.
Restrictive free tier: One user and 100 SMS per month limit its usefulness for ongoing team operations.
Paid plans still have message caps: Even Business is limited to 5,000 SMS monthly, which may constrain businesses relying on frequent guest updates.

Verdict

Choose NextMe if your service business needs to bring walk-ins and appointments into a shared guest-flow system, with flexible check-in and text updates. Its breadth of queue tools and reporting is the main reason to choose it; the main reason to look elsewhere is the recurring SMS and user limits, which make costs and capacity central considerations as a team grows.
