Overview

SkipCV is AI-powered resume screening software for recruiters and hiring teams that need to rank candidates against job requirements. It suits teams that already manage job distribution and interviews in an ATS and want a configurable screening layer. Its focus on weighted criteria, candidate reports, and document checks is useful for narrowing a pool, but it does not replace the wider hiring workflow.

Key features

SkipCV evaluates resumes against job requirements using context-aware AI rather than relying only on keyword matches. Recruiters can weight criteria to reflect a role’s priorities and set deal-breakers to flag or remove candidates who miss essential requirements. That combination gives teams control over what counts as a strong match, though the screening still depends on the criteria they choose.

Candidate reports include fit scores, strengths, potential concerns, and suggested interview questions, giving reviewers a structured starting point for follow-up. Deep OCR extracts resume content and flags hidden formatting, white-font text, and suspicious patterns. SkipCV can also group a resume, cover letter, and portfolio through identity matching. These tools support review; they do not provide job posting distribution or interview scheduling.

SkipCV is designed to sit alongside an existing ATS: teams export resumes for screening and bring shortlisted results back into the ATS. The site identifies ATS integrations, resume parsing, knockout questions, and skills screening among its capabilities. It says analysis uses Anthropic’s Claude API and uploaded documents are not used to train AI models. Customer data is stored in a private, dedicated PostgreSQL database hosted on a VPS, with TLS/SSL encryption in transit and access controls. Resume content is processed in memory during extraction and kept in the database only as long as the customer chooses; users can delete candidates, jobs, or their account history in dashboard settings.

Pricing

SkipCV uses a freemium model. Standard is 0.00 USD per free and includes 20 credits, with a maximum of 8 candidates per analysis. The separate Free credits plan is also 0.00 USD per free and provides 20 free credits. Those free allowances make it possible to try screening without a subscription, but the candidate cap on Standard limits each analysis.

Pro includes 250 credits per month and has custom pricing. Demo requests are available by email at info@skipcv.com.

Platforms

SkipCV is available on the web, making it a browser-based option for teams screening candidates alongside their ATS.

Who it's for

SkipCV is best suited to recruiters who want to rank applicants against role-specific criteria and already have an ATS for job distribution and interview scheduling. Its reports and document checks can help structure candidate review; teams seeking a standalone system for the full hiring process should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Configurable ranking: Weighted criteria and custom deal-breakers let hiring teams reflect role priorities rather than treat every requirement alike.
Useful review context: Fit scores, strengths, concerns, and suggested interview questions give reviewers more than a ranked list.
Document and identity checks: Deep OCR flags suspicious formatting, while identity matching groups related application materials.
Free entry point: Standard provides 20 credits at 0.00 USD per free, but caps an analysis at 8 candidates.
Not a full ATS: Job distribution and interview scheduling remain outside SkipCV, and shortlisted results must return to an existing ATS workflow.
Pro budget uncertainty: The 250-credit monthly plan has custom pricing, so its cost cannot be compared without a quote.

Alternatives

Candidate Screening Software is the broader directory category for comparing screening tools. Choose Humanly Intelligent CV Screening if its Explorer plan’s five job descriptions every day, one run of each other co-pilot, and up to 10 CVs per run suit your needs. CandiSift is a free alternative with API, self-hosted, and web platforms; its open-source self-hosted plan has no stated software fee, though LLM processing can incur per-token costs. Consider Octagnt if its free plan’s one role and one requisition each month, with 150 profiles evaluated, fits your volume.

Ducknowl is another screening option with custom pricing tailored to hiring processes and screening or assessment types, and a pay-only-for-what-you-use approach. CVViZ Job Distribution is an alternative focused on job distribution. HRClaw, Counting AI, and Rezmatch.ai are also alternatives to consider.

Verdict

Choose SkipCV if your team already has an ATS and needs configurable AI screening with candidate reports and document checks. Its free 20-credit allowance is a practical way to start, but the 8-candidate analysis cap and separate ATS workflow matter; teams needing end-to-end hiring or a known Pro price should compare other options.
