Overview

Guided prompts, built-in logic and real-time feedback support electronic I-9 completion, with a workflow designed around the M-274 Employer Handbook. Mobile access and electronic signatures extend that process across smartphones, tablets and computers.

Verifi-9 goes beyond form completion: it supports E-Verify case handling, remote Section 2 workflows and digitization of older records. That breadth can help teams coordinate related work in one platform. Employers seeking only a basic digital form may find the scope unnecessary, while the initial three-year term is a significant commitment for any organization that values shorter agreements.

Key features

Guided completion and compliance tasks

Standard features include e-signature, smart field validation, alerts and reporting, audit support, mobile access, Section 3 reverification (Supplement B), retention compliance, and support for citizenship statuses and visa types. Together, these cover routine completion and follow-up obligations rather than just collecting a form. The platform is built to follow the M-274 Employer Handbook, but that does not remove the need for employers to manage their own compliance responsibilities.

Remote hiring and E-Verify

Remoti-9 supports remote Section 2 workflows, including naming an authorized representative and uploading documents using a phone camera. Signatures can be made by mouse, stylus, finger or click-to-sign. This makes the service relevant to employers whose hires cannot complete the process at a shared workplace.

VerifyToday says it is an Authorized DHS E-Verify Agent. The E-Verify offering includes case management, workforce authorization integration, Further Action Notice workflows, TNC management, notifications and automated resolution. This is a substantial set of follow-up tools for employers handling verification cases; organizations that need only a free way to verify newly hired employees should compare the dedicated E-Verify system.

Audit and historical records

Remedi-9 creates a tamper-evident audit trail with login, device or browser, field, signature, upload, change, timestamp and IP details. That level of event tracking can help employers reconstruct activity during an audit.

Reunifi-9 can import and digitize paper and electronic I-9s, track Section 2 document expirations and send form-purge notifications. Its historical remediation features include error identification, employer and employee remediation workflows, compliant update recording and data integration. These tools are most useful to teams with an existing archive to manage; they add less value to a small employer starting with a clean slate.

Pricing

Verifi-9 is paid, with custom pricing and flexible pricing and bundling. The product page does not provide a fixed price, so employers should request a quote that reflects the features they need.

The terms set an initial three-year term from go-live, followed by automatic three-year renewals unless the agreement is terminated under its provisions. That is a long commitment to accept before pricing and termination conditions are clear. If a Standard account is terminated but storage is not, storage costs $0.25 per I-9 per month. After a storage-termination request, records are downloadable for up to 30 calendar days. Employers should plan exports and storage termination carefully to avoid ongoing fees or losing access to records after that window.

VerifyToday describes support from a U.S.-based team, but technical support is provided at its discretion; on-site training and maintenance are excluded. Teams that require guaranteed support arrangements should review the contract closely.

Platforms

Verifi-9 is available on Android, iOS and the web. Its mobile document capture and signing options support remote Section 2 completion across those device types.

Who it's for

Verifi-9 is a stronger fit for HR and Payroll teams that handle remote hiring, E-Verify follow-up and ongoing I-9 retention or remediation. Employers with paper or electronic backlogs can benefit from the archive tools as well. A small team with few forms, no historical records and little need for E-Verify workflows may be better served by a narrower or free option, particularly given the three-year term.

Pros and cons

Broad workflow coverage: Guided I-9 completion, remote Section 2, E-Verify case handling and historical remediation are brought together for teams managing several stages of the process.
Detailed audit trail: Recorded device, field, signature, change, timestamp and IP details give employers a fuller record of activity.
Useful archive management: Digitization, expiration tracking and purge notifications address ongoing work with older I-9 records.
Long contract commitment: The initial three-year term and successive three-year renewals are a poor fit for buyers seeking a short commitment.
Storage can continue to cost money after termination: Standard accounts incur $0.25 per I-9 per month if storage remains active, and the download window after a storage-termination request is limited to 30 calendar days.
Support has contractual limits: Technical support is discretionary, with on-site training and maintenance excluded.

Alternatives

Employment Eligibility Verification Software is a useful place to compare a wider set of tools if Verifi-9's contract or scope does not fit.

Everee Onboarding+ is worth considering if a free standard I-9 and onboarding workflow is the priority; its Standard I-9 and onboarding workflows are included at no additional charge.
E-Verify is the more direct choice for employers who need only a free internet-based system to verify newly hired employees, rather than Verifi-9's broader I-9 and archive tools.
Patriot I-9 may suit buyers comparing a no-seat-charge option; its E-Verify plan is also listed at no charge per I-9, while storage is priced separately.
Imagility I-9 Compliance is another paid option with Android, iOS and web support.
WorkRight is a comparison point for employers who want a Lite plan with 50 monthly verifications, guided completion, E-Verify management, audit trails and remote workflows.
Experian I-9 Management is another quote-priced option for buyers who want to request a demo.
First Advantage Form I-9 and E-Verify Services is another paid I-9 and E-Verify service, with some networks carrying an additional per-use cost.
S2Verify I-9 and E-Verify offers custom I-9 and E-Verify services with pricing on request.

Verdict

Choose Verifi-9 if your HR or Payroll team needs remote I-9 completion alongside E-Verify workflows, detailed audit trails and tools for maintaining older records. Its main advantage is that breadth; its main drawback is a three-year initial term, compounded by possible continuing storage fees after termination. If your needs are limited to basic verification or form completion, compare simpler options before committing.
