Overview

The directory spans 27 games and 189 interactive maps, with 23 games marked available and four highlighted; other entries may be coming soon. That is a useful breadth of coverage, but players should confirm their game is available rather than assume every directory entry is ready.

Key features

Maps and shared planning

Maps mark points of interest and secret locations, while custom markers and found-item tracking help players keep a personal record of discoveries. Route planning is useful for organising an exploration path instead of checking locations one by one. Players can also draw routes and ambush points and share them with friends in real time, a practical advantage for coordinating a group.

Guides and game databases

Users can attach custom maps, guides, images, and videos to locations. Guides may combine text with images or YouTube videos, giving contributors room to explain a location in context. Q&A and comments support discussion, while the databases cover items, recipes, traders, and quests with objectives and rewards. This makes LootAtlas more than a pin map, particularly for players who want reference material alongside their route.

Community progression

Users can earn XP through pins, quests, and streaks, and credits for leaderboard positions. These provide a participation incentive, though the core value remains the maps and community contributions rather than the reward system.

Pricing

LootAtlas is free to use. Its listed plan, LootAtlas, costs 0.00 USD per free; the App Store also describes the app as free, with no subscription price stated. Players can optionally make one-off contributions starting at $1, with no subscription. This keeps access free without a recurring commitment, while contributions are voluntary rather than a paid tier with additional features.

Platforms

LootAtlas is available on the web and through iOS and Android apps. The App Store version history says sign-in supports Steam, Epic Games, and Discord. Its privacy policy says personal data is processed under the GDPR and applicable country-specific data protection rules, while cautioning that internet transmissions can have security gaps and absolute protection cannot be guaranteed.

Who it's for

LootAtlas is a good fit for players whose games appear in its available catalog and who want maps, personal progress tracking, community guides, or real-time shared planning in one place. It is less suitable when a player’s game is not available, or when a player only needs a straightforward map and does not value the community and database features.

Pros and cons

Pros: Maps combine locations with markers, found-item tracking, and route planning, supporting both discovery and personal organisation.
Pros: Real-time sharing of routes and ambush-point drawings makes group planning more useful than a map consulted alone.
Pros: Guides, discussion, and databases add location context and game reference material, and access is free with optional one-off contributions.
Cons: Coverage is uneven: the directory distinguishes available games from highlights and coming-soon entries, so players must check their title’s status.
Cons: The reward system uses XP and leaderboard credits, but these do not replace the practical value of useful maps and contributions.
