Overview

Humanitix combines online ticketing with registration, event promotion and on-site guest management. It is best suited to charities, schools and event teams that want these jobs in one service; its charitable model is a draw, but paid-ticket charges still need to be part of the budget.

Founded in Sydney in 2016, Humanitix directs all profits from booking fees to charity. That gives organizers a clear social-impact reason to consider it, without making ticket sales fee-free.

Key features

Ticketing includes unlimited ticket types, reserved seating, merchandise sales, gift cards, invoicing and waitlists. This breadth suits events with varied admission options or add-on sales better than a basic ticket link. Session registration and advanced form customization support more structured sign-ups, while hosts can manage guests and refunds, assign tickets later, and track sales with reports and analytics.

Promotion tools include website ticket widgets, promotional and affiliate codes, email tools and accessibility features. Integration guides cover Mailchimp, Salesforce, HubSpot, Zapier, Meta Pixel, Google Tag Manager and analytics platforms, which is useful for teams connecting event activity to existing outreach or measurement tools.

The public API is read-only and can retrieve event, order, ticket and tag information for events owned by or shared with an account. It suits teams needing access to event data, not those seeking an API to make changes. The free Humanitix for Hosts app runs on iOS and Android and lets event teams track, check in and sell tickets. Check-in requires Android 7.0 or later or iOS 13.0 or later; Tap to Pay has additional device and operating-system requirements.

Hosts can authenticate with email and password, two-factor authentication or Google single sign-on; ticket buyers do not maintain logged-in accounts. Humanitix says its payment processing is PCI DSS certified, but it is not currently ISO 27001 certified. It says application data is stored in MongoDB Atlas on AWS in the Sydney region and that it does not sell user data. Support is free on all plans, with a support team based in Sydney.

Pricing

Humanitix uses a freemium model. Free events have no ticket fee, making the service a practical fit for organizers who do not charge admission. For paid events, the Standard plan charges 2.1% booking fee plus $0.99 per paid ticket, with payment processing listed separately at 2.9% + $0.30. The Charities & Schools plan charges a lower 1% booking fee plus $0.99 per paid ticket, with the same separately listed payment processing rate of 2.9% + $0.30. Both paid plans are priced at 0.99 USD per month, billed per paid ticket.

The lower booking fee on Charities & Schools makes it the stronger fit for eligible organizations expecting paid-ticket sales, while Standard suits other organizers who need paid ticketing. In either case, the separate processing charge means the booking fee is not the whole per-ticket cost. Larger events can use the Custom plan with custom pricing.

Platforms

Humanitix supports web, Android, iOS and API access. The Hosts app gives event teams a mobile option for tracking, check-in and ticket sales, subject to its operating-system requirements.

Who it's for

Humanitix is a strong choice for event organizers who need ticketing plus promotion and guest management, particularly charities and schools that can use the lower booking-fee plan. It also fits free events that need registration and on-site check-in. Organizers whose priority is minimizing the cost of paid admission should compare the combined booking and processing charges before committing.

Pros and cons

Pro: Unlimited ticket types, reserved seating, merchandise, gift cards and waitlists cover more complex event setups than basic ticket sales.
Pro: Hosts can handle promotion, guest management, refunds and check-in in the same service, including through a free iOS and Android app.
Pro: All profits from booking fees go to charity, giving organizations a clear social-impact reason to choose Humanitix.
Con: Paid tickets incur a booking fee and separately listed payment processing, so organizers need to budget for both.
Con: The public API is read-only, limiting its usefulness for teams that need to update event information programmatically.
Con: Tap to Pay has additional device and operating-system requirements beyond those for check-in.

Verdict

Choose Humanitix if your team wants ticketing, promotion and guest management in one platform and values its commitment to directing booking-fee profits to charity. Charities and schools get a lower booking fee, and free events avoid ticket fees altogether. Look elsewhere if paid-ticket costs are your deciding factor or your workflow depends on an API that can write data.
