Overview

EspoCRM brings visual pipeline management together with marketing automation and AI features. The free plan and open-source model make it worth considering for teams seeking control over their CRM, but the paid plans start at three users and differ sharply in storage and record capacity.

Key features

A visual sales pipeline gives teams a way to track opportunities, while marketing automation and AI extend the product beyond basic contact management. Email sync is not included, a meaningful gap for teams that want correspondence to flow into their CRM without a separate process.

Capacity is a central plan trade-off: Basic allows 100,000 records and 3GB of file storage per user; Enterprise raises that to 10 million records and 10GB per user; Ultimate removes the record cap and provides 400GB of storage. Growing teams that expect large datasets should compare these ceilings with their needs before choosing.

Pricing

EspoCRM uses a freemium model, with a free plan and a 30-day trial. Paid-plan prices are custom pricing.

Basic: Minimum three users, 3GB of file storage per user and 100,000 records. It is the lowest-capacity paid option, but the three-seat minimum may rule it out for a solo user or very small team.
Enterprise: Minimum five users, 10GB of file storage per user and 10 million records. The larger record allowance better fits teams managing substantial CRM data, though it also requires a larger starting team.
Ultimate: Minimum ten users, 400GB of file storage and unlimited records. This is the choice for larger organizations that need substantial storage and no record ceiling; its ten-user minimum makes it a poor fit for small teams.

The free plan can provide a starting point, but its caps are not given. Check that it covers the intended team and workload before relying on it as a long-term option.

Platforms

EspoCRM supports web, Windows, macOS and Linux. That range suits organizations whose staff work across desktop operating systems as well as in a browser.

Who it's for

EspoCRM is best suited to organizations that want an open-source CRM with a visual sales pipeline, marketing automation and AI, and can match their team size to a plan's minimum. It is less suitable for solo operators, teams that need email sync, or buyers who require a published price before evaluating options.

Pros and cons

Pro: Open-source availability and a free plan give teams a lower-commitment way to consider the CRM.
Pro: Pipeline management, marketing automation and AI cover more than basic contact tracking.
Pro: Web and three desktop platforms offer flexibility across operating systems.
Con: Email sync is not included, so teams seeking integrated correspondence will need another approach.
Con: Paid plans require at least three, five or ten users, respectively, which limits fit for smaller teams.
Con: Record and storage caps vary substantially by plan, and paid pricing is custom rather than a published figure.

Verdict

Choose EspoCRM if your organization wants an open-source CRM that combines pipeline management, marketing automation and AI, and can accommodate the paid plans' user minimums. Look elsewhere if email sync is essential, your team is too small for those minimums, or you need published paid-plan prices to make a decision.
