Overview

FlinkISO is open-source quality management software for organisations that need to manage controlled documents, forms and quality records. It suits teams that want configurable QMS processes and can either run the system themselves or choose hosted service. Its broad module set is a strength, but self-hosting brings infrastructure work and cloud uploads are capped at 25 MB per file.

It supports ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 13485, with additional standards configurable. That makes it useful across several quality frameworks, though using the software does not by itself establish compliance.

FlinkISO also sits within Quality Management Software, with related capabilities in Document Management Software and Audit Management Software.

Key features

Document control and collaboration

Storage, search, retrieval, access restrictions, version control and approval workflows cover the core needs of controlled documents. ONLYOFFICE integration supports creating and editing documents, collaborating on them, approving and publishing them. Password-protected PDF downloads and records of issue numbers, timestamps and users provide traceability when documents are distributed. These controls are relevant to teams managing approved procedures and records, rather than just storing files.

Forms, records and workflows

Users can build HTML forms with drag-and-drop fields, validations, layouts and custom business rules without coding. This gives teams a way to shape data capture around their processes, while generated forms can expose JSON and XML export actions for authorized integrations through a table route and custom table ID.

Modules cover audits, change control, management reviews, customer complaints, nonconformities, corrective actions, employee training, equipment records and calibration. The breadth can consolidate routine quality activities in one system; organisations needing only a narrow audit workflow may find the wider QMS scope unnecessary. The platform also lists compliance information for 21 CFR Part 11 and EU Annex 11.

AI and deployment choices

FlinkISO can connect to cloud OpenAI-compatible providers or self-hosted Ollama servers for AI chat and form-building workflows. The choice of cloud or self-hosted provider offers deployment flexibility, but the AI connection is an integration option rather than a substitute for configuring the QMS to suit an organisation.

Installations can run on Linux or Windows servers, with manual setup using Apache or IIS, MySQL and PHP. That flexibility is useful for organisations with server administration capacity; teams that do not want to maintain infrastructure should consider the hosted edition or paid implementation support.

Pricing

FlinkISO is freemium, with a free self-hosted plan, paid plans from $80/mo and a 15-day trial.

Plan	Price	What it means
Free On-Premise	0.00 USD per free	Unlimited concurrent users, all QMS modules and self-hosted data and documents, with no expiry. You install and manage the infrastructure yourself, so the zero price trades off against operational responsibility. Free users receive manuals, videos, a community forum and email support.
Form Creation API	80.00 USD per month	Create custom forms and modules and modify generated forms. This is aimed at teams that need form-building API capability, not a full hosted QMS package.
On-Cloud QMS	80.00 USD per month	API access plus storage charged according to monthly average daily usage. It includes unlimited users and records, daily backups and hosted ONLYOFFICE. There is no set cap on users, employees, documents, processes, custom forms or uploads, but each file is limited to 25 MB and storage rates vary by usage band.
Startup Plan	750.00 USD per once	A one-time payment for a three-month plan with installation, training, three months of API access and priority support. It is designed for small and medium organisations seeking guided setup for an on-premise QMS.
Enterprise Support	Custom pricing	Implementation assistance, customisation and reports, plus priority support.

Paid plans add training and priority assistance beyond the free self-hosted support channels. The cloud plan's usage-based storage means its $80.00 USD per month starting price is not the whole cost where storage needs are substantial. The 15-day trial offers a short evaluation window; the free on-premise plan has no expiry.

Platforms

FlinkISO supports API, Linux, self-hosted, web and Windows. The server installation options suit organisations that can operate Linux or Windows environments, while cloud hosting avoids that installation burden. Hosted uploads remain subject to the 25 MB file cap.

Who it's for

FlinkISO is a good fit for organisations seeking a configurable QMS spanning document control, forms and operational quality modules, especially where multiple standards or self-managed deployment matter. The free plan can suit technically capable teams willing to maintain servers. Smaller and medium organisations wanting guided on-premise setup have the Startup Plan; teams preferring hosted service should budget for usage-based storage and check that the file cap fits their documents.

It is less compelling for buyers who need only audit management, or for teams that cannot take on server administration and whose files exceed the hosted limit.

Pros and cons

Pro: The free on-premise plan includes all QMS modules and unlimited concurrent users, making it viable beyond a small-seat pilot if the organisation can manage its own infrastructure.
Pro: Configurable forms, approval workflows and a wide range of QMS modules cover both data capture and follow-up processes.
Pro: ONLYOFFICE collaboration and document download records support controlled document handling and traceability.
Con: Self-hosted users must install and maintain the server stack, which makes the free option less suitable for teams without technical capacity.
Con: Cloud storage is usage-priced, and every uploaded file is capped at 25 MB despite otherwise uncapped record and user counts.

Alternatives

Choose SafetyCulture (now Mitti) if mobile use on Android or iOS is important and its free tier's limit of 10 seats, 300 AI credits per seat per month and five active inspection templates fits your needs. Choose SupplyOn if supplier-facing solutions are the priority; its fee-based plan is capped at 45.00 USD per month, with some solutions free and fees potentially waived under an existing contract.

OpenWorkpaper is a free web option to consider. Diligent Audit, QSC QS1, Workiva Audit Management, Ideagen Internal Audit and AuditBoard (now Optro) are paid alternatives for readers comparing audit-focused software.

Verdict

Choose FlinkISO if your organisation needs a broad, configurable QMS and can either manage an on-premise installation or accept hosted storage charges and the 25 MB file cap. Its strongest case is the combination of free self-hosted access to all modules with document control, forms and operational workflows. Look elsewhere if you need a narrowly focused audit tool, cannot maintain infrastructure, or regularly handle files larger than the hosted limit.
