Overview

Workers make choices in simulated support situations and receive immediate feedback, so they can learn from mistakes without putting a client at risk. The format is deliberately focused on disability and aged care work, not general-purpose staff training. Content is co-created with service users, subject matter experts and industry stakeholders, a relevant approach for training tied closely to clients’ needs and frontline practice.

Key features

Sessions take about seven minutes, making the training easier to fit around frontline work than longer courses. Simulations can be played on smartphones and tablets without an internet connection, which is useful for mobile workers with intermittent connectivity. The platform assesses communication and technical skills and gives organizations competency results; managers can use evidence-based reports to track worker and client satisfaction, support safety and compliance requirements, and demonstrate return on investment.

The library includes Disability Awareness, Working Professionally, Behaviours That Challenge, introductory and intermediate positive behaviour support, Mental Health Awareness, PPE Droplet Precautions, Manual Handling 101, and violence and aggression. That gives care providers several relevant topics in one place, though the specialist scope is a limitation for employers who need training across unrelated functions.

Welcome to Support Work is free for the community and is intended for workers, employers, people considering support work and the disability community. Employers can also use it to attract and screen prospective workers. An account is required to access modules, even though membership registration is free. Organizations can request tailored scenario-based modules for their training and assessment needs, but this makes Enabler a less straightforward fit for buyers looking for an entirely off-the-shelf program.

Enabler says it uses SSL for server-client communication and bcrypt to encrypt passwords, and takes steps to comply with the Australian Privacy Principles and EU GDPR. Technical support is directed through an FAQ and ticket form.

Pricing

Enabler uses a freemium model: Welcome to Support Work is free for the community, and platform membership registration is free. A free trial is also offered. The free module provides a way to explore the support-work focus, but it is not a substitute for the wider training library or tailored organizational content. Custom pricing applies to organizational needs; there is no published figure here to compare with a training budget.

Platforms

Enabler is available on Android, iOS and the web. Offline simulations on smartphones and tablets make it more practical for staff who cannot rely on a continuous internet connection.

Who it's for

Enabler is a good fit for disability and aged care providers training frontline or mobile workers in role-specific scenarios, especially when short sessions, assessment results and manager reporting matter. The free introductory module also suits people exploring support work and employers screening potential hires. It is less suitable for organizations that need broad, cross-industry compliance training or want a clear published organizational price before engaging.

Pros and cons

Relevant, scenario-based practice: Workers receive immediate feedback while practicing choices without risking client well-being.
Fits frontline schedules: Sessions of about seven minutes and offline mobile play suit short learning windows and limited connectivity.
Useful oversight: Competency results and manager reports support workforce assessment, satisfaction tracking and compliance work.
Narrow subject focus: The library centers on disability and aged care support, so it may not cover unrelated workplace training needs.
Organizational costs require scoping: Tailored content is offered at custom pricing, which makes advance budget comparisons difficult.

Alternatives

For a wider range of compliance-training choices, browse Compliance Training Software. Workhub is worth considering when a freemium compliance platform with a paid per-user plan is a better fit; its Standard plan is 3.00 USD per month per user, billed monthly, with a three-user minimum. ComplyTrain may suit teams looking for a compliance and QMS/IMS package with a defined free tier: it supports one user and caps the free plan at five QMS/IMS documents, one compliance standard and one knowledge base.

SafetySkills is another freemium training option, with course assignments charged by credit and credit use varying by assignment. Benchmark Gensuite Training Management offers paid Ready, Quick Start and Enterprise plans for buyers considering a paid training-management product. LRN Catalyst is a paid option with personalized quotes and a demo. NAVEX EthicsPoint Incident Management offers paid pricing tailored to organizational size, program needs and selected solutions. Hemisphere is a paid web-based option with a private demo available by request. Klariance offers custom pricing, with subscriptions billed yearly in advance.

Verdict

Choose Enabler if you train disability or aged care support workers and want short, interactive scenarios, offline mobile practice and competency reporting, with a free introductory module to start. Look elsewhere if your needs extend beyond support work or you need published organizational pricing before beginning a purchasing discussion.
