Overview

Effie is a web-based operations platform for service businesses that want client acquisition and delivery tools in one place. It is best suited to teams managing projects alongside proposals, tracked time and billing; businesses seeking a proposal-only tool may not need its broader workflow.

Key features

Client work and delivery

Effie covers early prospecting with client imports, lead-capture forms and a pipeline, then supports project creation, task assignment and progress monitoring. That continuity can help service teams keep the path from prospect to active work together, though its value depends on wanting both client and delivery workflows in the same platform.

Time, proposals and approvals

One-click timers and manual time entries give teams two ways to record work. Approval workflows and cost reporting help managers review it, while approved time can be prepared for invoicing. This is a useful bridge between delivery and billing for firms that bill for time.

Proposal tools include branded editing, reusable content, fixed or percentage deals, online acceptance and pipeline analytics. AI drafting can use up to 4,000 characters of a client website as context, a defined allowance that may constrain proposals requiring more background. Clients can accept and sign proposals from a public link without downloading a PDF.

AI and automation

Effie AI can answer questions about workspace data, suggest task rescheduling and draft proposals, contracts and email sections. Its answers respect row-level security, exposing only data each user can see. Workflows can combine triggers, conditions and actions, run on a schedule or manually, and retain run history. These tools make the platform more than a place to store project records, but teams should choose it for these capabilities only if they fit existing processes.

Billing and communication

Stripe supports invoicing clients and accepting card payments. Workflow emails can go through a connected Gmail account, with replies returning to the user's inbox. Effie also advertises onboarding and migration help and support from real people, which may be useful when moving established client workflows.

Pricing

Effie's Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free, with no credit card required. It includes AI proposal drafting, pricing tables, a reusable content library and client approvals. Those inclusions make it a practical starting point for a service business evaluating proposal workflows without an upfront subscription.

The free offer is the only Effie plan with a published price here, so there is no paid tier to compare for additional capacity or features. No seat, usage or project caps are stated. Teams should assess the free plan against their actual scale rather than assume it will cover every operational need.

Platforms

Effie runs on the web. Its proposal signing, Gmail connection and Stripe billing support online client workflows, but the platform listing is web only.

Who it's for

Effie is aimed at service businesses, including creative, marketing, software, consulting, accounting, architecture, construction and home improvement firms. It is most compelling for teams that want prospect tracking, project delivery, time approval, proposals and billing connected. A business that only needs to produce proposals may prefer a narrower option.

Pros and cons

Pro: Client intake, project tasks, time approval, proposals and billing sit within one operational workflow, which suits service teams managing work from lead through invoice.
Pro: Public-link proposal acceptance and signing remove the need for clients to download a PDF.
Pro: The Free plan includes AI proposal drafting, pricing tables, reusable content and client approvals at no charge and without a credit-card requirement.
Con: AI proposal drafting uses at most 4,000 characters of client website context, limiting how much source material it can draw on.

Verdict

Choose Effie if your service business wants client prospecting, project delivery, approved time, proposals and Stripe billing joined in one web workspace, with a free starting point that includes AI drafting and client approvals. Look elsewhere if your main need is proposal production alone, or if the 4,000-character drafting context and unstated free-plan capacity do not suit your workflow.
