Overview

The platform brings appointments, medical records, payments, and client communication together. Clients can book through a practice website or portal, and email and SMS reminders, recurring appointments, and calendar sync support ongoing scheduling. That combination helps practices manage both routine visits and follow-ups without relying on a single booking channel.

DaySmart Vet describes support for small-animal, equine, mobile, mixed-animal, multi-location, specialty, emergency, high-volume, and shelter practices. This breadth makes it worth considering beyond the conventional small-animal clinic. Larger practices can ask sales about custom pricing, and those with specialized workflows should confirm their needs against the features and add-ons they plan to use.

Key features

Clinical records and operations

Collaborative SOAP notes, digital health and vaccine records, and prescription refill requests connect patient documentation with ongoing client tasks. Inventory management adds a practical business function alongside clinical records. These tools make the platform a more rounded option than one focused only on scheduling, particularly for practices seeking a shared system for clinical and operational work.

Reporting and integrations

More than 80 reports cover revenue, billing, inventory, appointments, clients, patients, and staff. That range can help managers review both financial and day-to-day activity, although which reports are available may depend on enabled features and add-ons. DaySmart Vet lists more than 40 integration partners, including IDEXX, Antech, QuickBooks Online, Vetcove, and Sunbit; practices should check that the integrations they rely on are included for their setup.

Voice notes and mobile access

Daisy Voice is an add-on that captures visit conversations and generates structured SOAP notes in the patient record. It may reduce documentation work for practices willing to pay for an additional tool, but it is not part of the core offer described here. Mobile apps for iOS and Android and cloud access from anywhere suit teams that need access beyond a desktop workstation.

Support, security, and data

Pricing information includes 24/7 chat, email, and phone support, while the product describes dedicated onboarding and data-migration help. Onboarding, training, and optional add-on costs are discussed upfront, so practices should clarify the full setup cost before committing. DaySmart Vet says practices own their data and that it can help coordinate a no-cost export if they leave. Its privacy policy describes SSL encryption for information transmissions and encryption of database data.

Pricing

The starting plan is $123.00 USD per month. DaySmart Vet says pricing varies by practice, with larger practices able to contact sales for custom pricing. This gives smaller practices a concrete starting point, but it is not a universal quote: onboarding, training, and optional add-ons can affect the total.

For practices comparing plans, the key trade-off is less about a published tier ladder and more about which features and add-ons their workflows require. Daisy Voice is an add-on, and report availability may depend on enabled features and add-ons. Ask which capabilities are included in the quoted plan, what training and migration will cost, and how pricing changes for a larger or multi-location operation.

Platforms

DaySmart Vet is available on the web and through iOS and Android apps. Cloud access from anywhere is useful for teams that need to work across locations or away from a desktop, while the mobile apps extend access to phones and tablets.

Who it's for

DaySmart Vet is a strong candidate for veterinary practices that want scheduling, clinical records, payments, client communication, and reporting under one roof. Its described practice coverage is broad enough to merit consideration by mobile, equine, specialty, emergency, multi-location, and high-volume or shelter operations, not just small-animal clinics. It is less compelling for buyers who need a fully predictable total before discussing configuration, or who do not need its broad workflow coverage and add-on options.

Pros and cons

Broad practice coverage: The product describes support for settings from small-animal and equine practices to emergency, multi-location, and shelter operations.
Connected daily workflows: Scheduling, records, payments, reminders, refills, and inventory bring clinical and client-facing tasks into one platform.
Substantial reporting and integration range: More than 80 reports and 40+ integration partners can support operational oversight and connections with other tools, subject to feature availability.
Costs can extend beyond the starting price: Practice-specific pricing and additional onboarding, training, and add-on costs mean the monthly starting figure may not reflect the complete expense.
Some capabilities depend on add-ons: Daisy Voice is an add-on, and report availability can depend on enabled features, so buyers should confirm what their intended setup includes.

Alternatives

NaVetor is the alternative to consider if a free plan is the priority: its Patterson Pay plan is free when using Patterson payment services, subject to transaction volume, and includes full feature access. Provet Cloud may suit practices that prefer a separately priced monthly structure, with a $99.00 USD per month Core plan for unlimited non-vet staff accounts and a $249.00 USD per month Core platform fee that includes one vet.

Vetstar is another paid option, offered on the web and as self-hosted software. ezyVet is worth comparing for practices looking for a starting package at $199.00 USD per month, with pricing varying by practice or hospital size. Covetrus Pulse is a paid web-based alternative.

Digitail may appeal to buyers seeking a free trial; its Mobile plan includes cloud-based SOAP records, scheduling and online booking, inventory, billing and payments, and 40+ integrations. IDEXX Neo also offers a free trial and a monthly subscription, with U.S. pricing available by contacting IDEXX. VetBlue is a paid alternative available on mobile and desktop platforms.

Verdict

DaySmart Vet is a good fit for practices that want a broad practice-management system with clinical documentation, client workflows, reporting, mobile access, and support across varied veterinary settings. Its strongest reason to choose it is that breadth; its main drawback is that the starting monthly price does not settle the cost of practice-specific configuration, training, and add-ons. Choose it when the connected workflows match your needs, and look elsewhere if a free option or a more clearly bounded total cost matters more.
