Overview

The software converts EDB mailbox data to PST while retaining the original structure, including emails, tasks, calendars, journals, and attachments. It also exports to MBOX, PDF, MSG, EML, and HTML, which helps when recipients need portable files, readable records, or archives outside Outlook.

The maker says it can recover data from offline, dismounted, corrupted, encrypted, and password-protected EDB files. Selective mailbox-item extraction and date-wise filtering let operators restrict a job to relevant folders or periods rather than create an unnecessarily large export. Split PST divides a large result into equal-sized PST files. The vendor reports testing with a 1TB EDB file and says there is no EDB size restriction, although Microsoft Outlook is required for EDB-to-PST conversion.

Key features

Recovery and export

Recovery is the central reason to choose this utility. Coverage of inaccessible and protected EDB states addresses incident response and migration work, while multiple output formats support handoff to different systems and archival workflows. Preserving the EDB structure should make the resulting PST more useful for mailbox reconstruction than a simple message dump.

Selective processing

Mailbox-item selection and date filtering are practical controls for targeted investigations, partial migrations, and jobs where storage or review time matters. Split PST is similarly useful when a destination or operator cannot comfortably handle one very large file, though the feature creates several equal-sized files rather than letting you describe a more specialized split policy.

Compatibility boundaries

The product is Windows-only. Microsoft Outlook is mandatory for EDB-to-PST conversion, so it is a poor fit for teams that do not maintain Outlook in their recovery environment. The homepage specifies Exchange Server 2013 and earlier; organizations running newer Exchange versions should verify suitability before purchase.

Pricing

Paid editions start at $299 one-time, while the named Personal plan is 599.00 USD per once (billed $599). Personal includes EDB to PST Converter, Exchange export/import, EDB to NSF/EML/PDF/MBOX/MSG converters, and EDB Finder. It is the sensible tier for one person handling occasional recovery or migration, but the price is substantially above the stated entry point.

Corporate costs 999.00 USD per once (billed $999) and includes the same bundle, making it a department-level purchase rather than a feature expansion. Technician is 1999.00 USD per once (billed $1999), and Enterprise is 2999.00 USD per once (billed $2999); both retain the same listed bundle and are aimed at larger service or organizational deployments. The published plan descriptions do not identify seat counts or quotas, so buyers should confirm licensing scope.

A free edition converts up to 25 items per EDB folder. That cap is useful for checking whether a file can be read and whether the output fits a workflow, but it is not a practical route for a full mailbox recovery. Personal, Corporate, Technician, and Enterprise licenses carry a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Platforms

EDB 2 PST Converter runs on Windows and is listed as compatible with Microsoft Outlook and Exchange Server. Outlook is specifically required for EDB-to-PST conversion, and the homepage names Exchange Server 2013 and earlier.

Who it's for

This is aimed at Exchange administrators, consultants, legal or compliance teams, and recovery specialists dealing with damaged or inaccessible EDB stores. It is especially suitable when one job needs PST plus formats such as PDF, MSG, EML, MBOX, or HTML, or when selective extraction and date filtering can reduce the review set. It is less suitable for Mac or Linux-only environments, Outlook-free workflows, and organizations whose Exchange version falls outside the stated scope.

Pros and cons

Pros: recovers from offline, dismounted, corrupted, encrypted, and password-protected EDB files; exports to seven formats while retaining mailbox structure; selective extraction and date filtering support focused jobs; Split PST produces equal-sized files; the maker reports 1TB testing and no EDB size restriction; 24/7 support is offered through chat, email, and phone.
Cons: Windows is the only listed platform; Outlook is required for PST conversion; the homepage specifies Exchange Server 2013 and earlier; the free edition stops at 25 items per folder; paid plans are expensive one-time purchases, and published descriptions do not state seat allowances.

Alternatives

Email Recovery Software is a useful starting point when you want to compare a broader set of recovery products rather than commit to an EDB-focused utility.

Choose Stellar Repair for Outlook instead when Outlook repair is the priority and you want web or Windows access, a free trial, and a Professional plan at 99.00 USD per once with unlimited file size.

BitRecover Exchange Recovery is preferable for a freemium route: its free plan allows 25 items per folder, while the Pro plan exports all recovered Exchange data and supports corrupted EDB files.

Pick Exchange EDB Recovery Tool if you want a free version and trial for EDB recovery, accepting the 25-items-per-folder saving limit described for the free comparison.

Recovery Toolbox for Outlook suits buyers who need wider platform coverage, including Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows, with personal pricing of 39.00 USD per once.

Choose WholeClear Exchange Recovery when Linux or macOS support matters; its Personal plan is 299.00 USD per year for up to 20 systems.

PST Walker is a lower-cost Windows option for viewing existing items and limited exports, with a Lite license at 32.95 USD per year.

Recoveryfix Outlook PST Repair is another Windows recovery alternative with free and trial editions.

DataNumen Outlook Repair is a Windows paid product with a free trial but no free plan.

Verdict

Choose EDB 2 PST Converter when you need broad EDB recovery, selective extraction, and several export formats in a Windows-based Exchange operation. Its main reason to avoid is the combination of mandatory Outlook, stated support through Exchange Server 2013, and a 25-item free-edition ceiling; newer Exchange environments or Outlook-free teams should look elsewhere.
