Overview

ConveyThis pairs automatic AI or machine translation with human editing tools, including a visual editor and glossary controls. That gives teams a way to refine translated copy and manage terminology instead of relying on machine output alone. It can also detect and translate text in images, buttons, and forms, and localize checkout and emails—a useful range for ecommerce sites where small untranslated elements can disrupt the customer journey.

Multilingual SEO features include hreflang, translated metadata, and localized URLs. Together, these capabilities make ConveyThis more than a language-switching widget: it addresses both the visible site experience and the search details behind it. The tradeoff is that plans cap languages, translated words, monthly translation requests, and websites. Growing businesses should match all four limits to their expected needs rather than judging by price alone.

Key features

Translation and editorial control: AI or machine translation can be refined in a visual editor, while glossary tools help teams manage preferred terminology. This suits organizations that need oversight of brand or product language.
Site and commerce localization: Translation covers text in images, buttons, and forms, as well as checkout and emails. That breadth is particularly relevant to ecommerce teams, though the applicable plan limits still determine how much content and how many markets can be covered.
Multilingual SEO: Hreflang, translated metadata, and localized URLs support a site organized for multiple languages, not just visitors using a language selector.
Integrations and imports: The maker lists more than 35 platform integrations, including WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Webflow, and Squarespace, and says JavaScript can be used on other websites. CSV and TMX translation imports are available on every plan, including Free, which is useful for teams bringing existing translations into their workflow.
API and AI-agent access: API access is part of the product, and a read-only MCP server for AI agents is included with the plan. These options may matter to teams connecting translation to other tools or agent workflows.
Security: Browser-to-server data is protected with SSL 256-bit encryption, and data is backed up every few hours. Enterprise adds a dedicated GDPR-ready translation server, regional hosting, encryption in transit and at rest, and a commitment not to use customer data to train external LLMs or share it with third parties.

Pricing

ConveyThis uses a freemium model, with monthly paid plans starting at $12/mo and a 3-day trial. The limits that matter are not just translated words: language count, website count, and monthly translation requests also affect whether a plan will accommodate a growing site.

Free — 0.00 USD per free: 1 language, 5,000 words, 1 domain, and 2,500 monthly translation requests. It is a sensible way to assess the service or translate a small site, but the word and request allowances leave little room for a larger content library.
Starter — 12.00 USD per month: 1 language, 60,000 words, and 1 domain. It increases the word allowance substantially over Free, but remains a single-language option.
Business — 24.00 USD per month: 3 languages, 200,000 words, and 1 domain. This is the first listed tier for teams moving beyond one target language.
Business+ — 40.00 USD per month: 4 languages, 400,000 words, and 1 domain. It doubles Business's word allowance and adds one language, while retaining the one-domain limit.
Pro — 64.00 USD per month: 5 languages, 800,000 words, and 3 domains. The extra domains make this a better fit for organizations managing several sites, as well as more language and content capacity.
Pro+ — 110.00 USD per month: 9 languages, 1,400,000 words, and 5 domains. It suits broader multi-site localization needs than Pro.
Optimum — 160.00 USD per month: 14 languages, 2,000,000 words, and 10 domains. This is a substantial capacity step for teams managing many sites and markets.
Corporate — 240.00 USD per month: 20 languages, 3,000,000 words, and 15 domains; Corporate+ — 320.00 USD per month: 30 languages, 4,000,000 words, and 20 domains. These tiers target larger localization programs with growing site and language counts.
Advanced — 480.00 USD per month: 40 languages, 8,000,000 words, and 25 domains. Advanced+ — 640.00 USD per month: 80 languages, 6,000,000 words, 30 domains, and 3,000,000 monthly translation requests. Advanced+ reaches the highest language and domain counts, but its published word allowance is lower than Advanced's, so teams should compare the particular caps they need.

Support levels also vary: Free has limited support, Starter through Business+ have basic support, Pro through Corporate have priority support, and larger plans have premium support. Monthly translation request limits are published for Free and Advanced+ above; buyers should account for requests alongside words when evaluating those tiers.

Platforms

ConveyThis supports web and API use. Its integrations include WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Webflow, and Squarespace, with JavaScript offered as an option for other websites. The maker describes installation as no-code and setup as taking less than five minutes, which makes it relevant to teams seeking a low-code route to site localization.

Who it's for

Founders, marketers, agencies, and ecommerce teams are the clearest fit: they can use the editing and glossary tools to supervise translated content, SEO features to localize site structure, and integrations to connect the service to common website platforms. Ecommerce teams in particular may value coverage of checkout and email content. A small site targeting one language can start on Free or Starter; teams needing more languages, domains, or request capacity should compare the higher tiers carefully. It is less compelling for a project whose requirements exceed the published caps or do not center on website localization.

Pros and cons

Pro: Visual editing and glossary controls provide editorial oversight of machine translation, useful for maintaining preferred terminology.
Pro: SEO, interface text, checkout, and email localization cover more of the visitor experience than page text alone.
Pro: CSV and TMX imports are included even on Free, lowering the barrier to bringing existing translations into the product.
Con: Free is limited to 1 language, 5,000 words, 1 domain, and 2,500 monthly requests, so it is a constrained long-term option for a growing site.
Con: Starter still supports only 1 language, making Business the first listed monthly tier for a multilingual site.
Con: Capacity is divided among several separate caps, and Advanced+ lists fewer words than Advanced despite its higher price; buyers need to compare the specific limits that matter to them.

Verdict

ConveyThis is a strong fit for teams localizing websites that want machine translation paired with editorial controls, multilingual SEO, and coverage of ecommerce details. The main reason to choose it is that combination of website-focused features and integrations; the main reason to look elsewhere is the need to work within multiple language, word, domain, and request caps. Start with Free for a small site, and move up only after matching a paid tier's limits to the scale of the localization project.
