Overview

Continu is an enterprise learning platform for organizations training employees, customers, and partners. It is best suited to teams that need to create and distribute learning across distinct audiences, then track it through reporting. Its broad scope is useful, but custom pricing and a planned implementation make it a considered purchase rather than a lightweight, immediate-start option.

Founded in 2012 and headquartered in New York, Continu brings course authoring, assessments, assignment workflows, and learning reports together. Branded portals and separate Hubs can give external audiences or sub-brands their own learning experience.

Its range spans Customer Education Software, Sales Training Software, Partner Training Software, Restaurant Employee Training Software, and Learning Management Systems.

Key features

Authoring, assignments, and reporting

Built-in authoring and AI assistance support the creation of courses, learning journeys, and assessments. Automated assignment workflows can direct training to learners, while Continu Insights produces real-time reports from learning data. The combination suits organizations running ongoing programs for several audiences; teams that only need a place to host a small course library may find the broader system unnecessary.

Assessments and certificates support evaluation and completion recognition. Screen-recording assessments have a notable learner-side requirement: learners must install Continu’s Screen Capture Chrome extension. That can complicate participation for people who cannot or do not want to add a browser extension.

Audience experiences and learning agent

Branded portals and Hubs can separate external audiences and sub-brands, which is useful when one organization needs distinct learning environments. Eddy extends learning answers and training into Slack, Microsoft Teams, and SMS. The integrations directory also includes Workday, Salesforce, BambooHR, Zoom, Google Meet, LinkedIn Learning, and Udemy for Business, giving Continu connections across HR, communications, and learning tools.

Security and reliability

Continu says it undergoes annual SOC 2 Type II audits, encrypts data at rest with AES-256 and in transit with TLS 1.2 or 1.3, and complies with GDPR and CCPA. It also lists ISO 27001 practices and advertises a 99.99% uptime guarantee, with status published at status.continu.co. These commitments will matter to buyers assessing enterprise requirements, though they do not replace a review of the terms and controls relevant to a particular deployment.

Pricing

Continu has no free plan, and pricing is on request. All three tiers use monthly active users for sizing: Growth is for under 1,000, Professional for 1,000–5,000, and Enterprise for 5,000 or more. Each has custom pricing, so buyers must obtain a quote to compare costs.

Growth: Under 1,000 monthly active users. Includes access to implementation experts, success experts, technical support, and self-service training resources. It is the tier aimed at smaller active-user populations.
Professional: 1,000–5,000 monthly active users. It fits organizations with a larger learner base than Growth’s stated range.
Enterprise: 5,000 or more monthly active users. It is sized for the largest listed audience band.

Continu charges an implementation fee equal to 10% of the first-year contract value and recommends allowing 60 days for setup. That adds both cost and lead time beyond the subscription itself, so it is a poor match for teams needing training live immediately.

Platforms

Continu supports web, Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, Linux, API, and extension access. The Chrome extension requirement applies specifically to screen-recording assessments.

Who it's for

Continu is a strong fit for organizations that need one system for employee, customer, and partner education, especially when they need audience-specific portals, structured assignment, and reporting. The Growth plan also includes implementation and support resources. Smaller teams seeking a free or plainly priced tool, or organizations that do not need multiple audiences and workflows, should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pros: Authoring, AI assistance, assessments, certificates, automated assignments, and real-time reporting cover multiple stages of a learning program.
Pros: Branded portals and Hubs accommodate distinct external audiences and sub-brands.
Pros: Eddy brings learning support into Slack, Microsoft Teams, and SMS, while the integrations directory includes common HR, meeting, and learning services.
Cons: Custom pricing and no free plan make costs harder to assess before contacting Continu.
Cons: The implementation charge is 10% of first-year contract value, and setup is recommended to take 60 days.
Cons: Screen-recording assessments require learners to install a Chrome extension.

Alternatives

For customer-focused programs, compare Gainsight Customer Education: its Essentials tier specifies one Academy site with unlimited seats and courses, while Professional specifies two Academy sites. AcademyOcean is a clearer-priced alternative for teams wanting a broad learner toolkit: Essential is 250.00 USD per month and includes an editor, quizzes and certification, AI tools, SCORM, learner groups and invitations, reports, and a mobile learner interface.

LatitudeLearning may suit buyers focused on a lower-cost user-license structure: its 100-user license is 11.25 USD per year, based on a three-year contract billed annually. Academy of Mine is another paid option; its Professional plan starts at 999.00 USD per month and includes core features, 24-7 helpdesk support, and a premium customer success team.

Also consider BlueVolt, Confirm Academy, SkyPrep, and Thought Industries as alternatives.

Verdict

Choose Continu if your organization needs enterprise learning across internal and external audiences, with authoring, assignment workflows, tailored portals, and reporting in one platform. Its main advantage is that breadth; its main drawbacks are custom pricing, a 10% implementation charge, the recommended 60-day setup period, and the Chrome extension requirement for screen-recording assessments. Teams with simpler needs or tighter cost and launch constraints should compare alternatives first.
