Overview

CloudMailin receives email, parses it and delivers it to an application through an HTTP POST webhook. Teams can choose JSON, multipart form data or raw text, and route attachments to the webhook or to Amazon S3, Azure Storage or Google Cloud Storage. It also supports transactional outbound email through an API or SMTP relay, so it can cover both directions of an application’s email flow.

For inbound operations, the service provides 30 days of delivery history with full-text search and details about errors and retries. Outbound tools include spam checking, link and open tracking, bounce handling, reporting, tagging and priority queues. The breadth is useful for teams consolidating email infrastructure, but less compelling for someone who only needs a small parsing library.

Key features

Inbound delivery and attachments

Webhook delivery sends parsed messages to an application rather than requiring a separate polling workflow. CloudMailin says the inbound service works with any language or framework, naming Node.js, Python, Ruby, PHP, Go, Rust, TypeScript, Java and C# as examples. That flexibility suits teams with an existing endpoint and varied technology stacks. Attachments can be sent with the webhook or kept in a cloud storage service, giving teams a choice about where larger files live.

Operational controls and security

Searchable delivery history and error and retry details help teams investigate inbound delivery problems. CloudMailin says inbound metadata is retained for 60 days, while its delivery history covers 30 days. Inbound data is processed in the region where it is received, defaulting to the EU, US or Asia Pacific; a specific region can be selected through DNS records.

The company says its security program is aligned with ISO 27001 and that it has completed a SOC 2 Type 2 examination, with reports available to customers and prospects under NDA. Sending requires TLS, data is encrypted at rest where possible, and accounts can use 2FA or Google and GitHub OAuth. Those controls will matter to teams assessing operational and regional requirements, though the stated protections do not replace their own compliance review.

Pricing

The Free Plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes 10,000 emails per month, a 512KB per-message limit and no card requirement. It is a practical starting point for modest-volume evaluation, but the small message cap can rule it out when inbound emails carry larger attachments.

Starter costs 25.00 USD per month, billed $25 /mo, for 10,000 emails per month, 2MB per message and full-text search. It raises the message ceiling without raising the free plan’s monthly email quota, so it best fits workflows that need search or larger messages rather than more volume. Professional costs 45.00 USD per month, billed $45 /mo, and includes 20,000 emails per month, a 10MB message limit, full-text search and 150GB per month of data transfer. Premium costs 85.00 USD per month, billed $85 /mo, for 40,000 emails per month, 50MB messages, full-text search and 400GB per month of data transfer. These tiers suit progressively heavier traffic and larger payloads, with transfer allowances becoming relevant alongside email quotas.

Dedicated costs 1499.00 USD per month, billed From $1,499 /mo, and provides a dedicated cluster, higher throughput and full control for organizations that need that deployment model. Corporate costs 2001799.00 USD per month, billed $200 — $1,799/mo, for 100k — 7M emails per month, 50MB messages and full-text search. The wide volume range makes it the stated option for high-volume use; teams should match their expected throughput and needs to the applicable tier. All paid plans include custom domains, catch-all receiving, cloud attachment storage and delivery status reports with API access. A 7-day trial is offered.

Platforms

CloudMailin is available through an API and web interface. The inbound service’s language and framework flexibility makes it suitable for application teams that can receive HTTP POST requests, rather than users seeking a standalone desktop mail tool.

Who it's for

CloudMailin is a strong fit for developers who need inbound email parsing delivered to an application and also want transactional outbound email with tracking and bounce handling. Its free quota can support low-volume use, while higher tiers add message size, volume and data-transfer capacity. It is less suitable for users who need only a lightweight parser, or whose message sizes exceed the chosen plan’s cap.

Pros and cons

Inbound and outbound in one service: webhook-based parsing sits alongside API and SMTP transactional sending, reducing the need to assemble separate email flows.
Flexible message handling: JSON, multipart and raw text delivery, plus webhook or cloud-storage attachment handling, give application teams options for processing mail.
Useful delivery visibility: 30 days of searchable delivery history, errors and retries help diagnose inbound issues.
Free plan’s message cap is tight: 512KB per message may constrain emails with attachments even when the 10,000-email monthly allowance is sufficient.
Plan choice affects both scale and payloads: email quotas and message-size limits differ by tier, and Professional and Premium also specify monthly transfer allowances.

Alternatives

PHP MIME Mail Parser is a free, MIT-licensed library for PHP 8.2+ that requires the mailparse extension; choose it when you want a self-hosted PHP library rather than a hosted webhook service. DigiParser starts at 14.00 USD per month for 100 payslips, making it a better fit when the documents to extract are payslips and that scope matches your needs.

MailFrame offers a free plan with 100 parse operations per month, one active schema and webhook delivery; it may suit a low-volume parsing workflow that fits those limits. MailParse has a free plan for 100 emails per month, webhook delivery, REST polling and one inbound address, an option for users whose needs fit that smaller quota.

noima has a free allowance of 10 documents one-time with 30 days of retention, and a Starter plan at 12.00 EUR per month for 150 documents per month and 60 days of retention; it may fit document volumes and retention needs at that scale. Parserr offers a free plan with 15 emails per month, 10 documents, one inbox and unlimited parsing rules and integrations; choose it if those allowances and its listed Zapier and Microsoft Flow integrations fit your workflow.

Parseur has a free plan with up to 20 pages per month, one user, 90-day document retention and unlimited mailboxes and extracted fields, which may suit page-based extraction at that scale. Parsio Receipt OCR has a free plan with 30 credits per month, 30-day retention and one user; it is an alternative when that allowance fits.

Verdict

Choose CloudMailin if your application needs reliable inbound email-to-webhook delivery and you value having transactional sending, tracking and delivery diagnostics in the same service. Its broad integration formats and cloud attachment options are strong advantages; look elsewhere if you need only a small parser or if the plan’s message-size and volume limits do not fit your mail traffic.
