Overview

Class Manager is an operations platform for dance studios and other businesses that run classes. It suits owners who want families to handle bookings and payments through a portal while staff manage schedules, attendance, and billing. Its scope is broad for a free plan, but some administrative work still requires the web version.

Businesses can organize classes by season, clone existing classes, and use images and color codes to distinguish schedules. Parents and students can check schedules and book through a self-service portal, while owners can manage recurring classes, rooms, instructors, and waitlists. The company says its customers include businesses in the UK, United States, Australia, and elsewhere. See Class Scheduling Software and Dance Studio Management Software for related options.

Key features

Scheduling and enrollment

Cloning classes and setting up seasons can reduce repeated schedule setup, while visual customization helps distinguish classes at a glance. Room and instructor management and waitlists cover practical capacity and staffing needs. The portal lets families view schedules, book classes, and pay without relying on staff to process each enrollment; that makes the system a stronger fit for businesses comfortable with self-service.

Attendance, billing, and payments

Digital attendance tracking replaces paper registers with an electronic process. Recurring billing and automated overdue-payment reminders help keep regular charges and follow-ups organized. Supported payment options include Stripe AutoPay, Apple Pay, and Google Pay, giving families several ways to pay.

Staff, integrations, and security

Staff roles and permissions let owners limit what features each staff member can access. Zapier triggers cover customer, student, invoice, order, lead, booking, and payment events, which can connect class administration to other workflows. Class Manager describes itself as a data processor and says it will maintain technical and organizational security measures for personal data.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and has no monthly subscription. Online payments incur a flat service charge, so businesses relying heavily on online collection should weigh that cost rather than treating the plan as cost-free. Tailored pricing is available for high volumes.

The plan includes recurring classes, attendance tracking, waitlist management, room scheduling, instructor management, and a member booking portal. That combination makes it a practical starting point for studios that need core class operations without a subscription. Free training and premium support are among the offered features. There are no published paid tiers to compare; for high-volume businesses, pricing is tailored.

Platforms

Class Manager is available on the web, Android, and iOS. Its dedicated mobile apps offer views for owners, staff, and families, but the mobile experience is not a full substitute for the web: detailed reporting and creating classes are among the advanced tasks that require the web version. Owners who administer schedules or reports away from a computer should account for that limitation.

Who it's for

Class Manager is best suited to dance studios and other class-based businesses that want scheduling, enrollment, attendance, and recurring collections in one system, especially those that want parents or students to book for themselves. It is less suitable for teams that expect to complete every advanced administrative task in a mobile app, or for high-volume operators who need a fixed published subscription price.

Pros and cons

Pros: The Free plan combines scheduling resources, waitlists, attendance, and a booking portal without a monthly subscription, giving small class businesses a useful operational base.
Pros: Recurring billing, overdue reminders, and multiple supported payment options help streamline routine collections.
Pros: Staff permissions and a broad set of Zapier event triggers support controlled access and connected workflows.
Cons: Online payments carry a flat service charge, which can matter to businesses collecting much of their revenue online.
Cons: Some advanced tasks, including detailed reporting and class creation, must be done on the web, limiting mobile administration.
Cons: High-volume pricing is tailored, so operators in that category will need to seek a quote rather than budget from a standard tier.

Alternatives

Bookamat is another option with a free plan and trial, and its platform coverage includes Linux, macOS, and Windows as well as web and mobile.

PushPress may suit businesses that want unlimited leads, admins, members, and staff on its Free plan; that plan has no monthly fees but charges transaction fees of 4.99% + .30 CC and 2.89% + .30ACH.

Stepsi is worth considering for businesses comparing annual plans with active-member caps, including Plus at 30.00 EUR per year for up to 100 active members.

WellnessLiving may be a better fit for operators seeking a paid booking platform with client and staff apps; its Starter plan is 62.00 USD per month, billed annually, and includes one staff member.

Bookwhen is a web-only alternative for smaller booking operations: its Free plan allows 50 bookings / month, 1 team member, and 1 booking page.

CourseDeck is another free-plan choice, with a Starter plan capped at 25 active students, 1 location, and 1 admin.

ClubReady is a paid alternative available on web, iOS, and Android.

Momence is a paid option with custom pricing and a free trial.

Verdict

Choose Class Manager if you run a dance studio or similar class business and want a free, broad system for schedules, family bookings, attendance, and recurring billing. The absence of a monthly subscription is compelling, but online-payment service charges and web-only advanced tasks are the main reasons to look elsewhere.
