Overview

CHECKPRINT supports printing on check stock or blank white paper with a regular printer. Users can choose top, middle, or bottom layouts, customize them, and save checks as PDFs, print them, or send them by email. The MICR line uses the routing and account numbers entered by the user, rendered in MICR font. Its maker says the checks comply with standards for more than 8,000 US banks, a broad stated reach for US users.

The service works in a browser on computers, laptops, tablets, and smartphones, with no software download required. That makes it practical for users who need access from different devices. The FAQ says passwords are stored as salted hashes and recommends SMS two-factor authentication for sign-ins from unrecognized devices. Its privacy policy says personal information is protected during transmission to other websites using encryption such as SSL.

Key features

Layouts and output

Three check positions and customizable layouts provide useful flexibility for different check formats. Support for blank paper as well as check stock can help users who do not have preprinted stock, while PDF saving, printing, and email cover both physical and digital workflows. These are focused check-making tools, not a broader payment or bookkeeping suite.

Accounts and retention

Account allowances scale from one on Free to two on Start and ten on Professional. Free checks remain stored for 30 days after creation; paid-plan checks stay stored for the subscription duration. The free plan's unlimited check count is tempered by its watermark and short retention period, so it is better for trying the workflow than maintaining a long-lived check archive.

Pricing

CHECKPRINT has a free plan, one-time credit bundles, and monthly or yearly subscriptions. The right fit depends on whether checks are occasional or recurring and how many bank accounts need to be managed.

Free — 0.00 USD per free: one bank account, unlimited checks, PDFs ready to print with a watermark, and 30-day storage. It offers a way to create checks without paying, but the watermark and retention limit make it a poor choice for ongoing watermark-free output.
Starter credits — 4.99 USD per once: two credits, with unlimited previews carrying a void watermark; one credit removes the watermark. A low-commitment option for occasional checks, but the credits are finite.
Save credits — 9.99 USD per once: ten credits with unlimited void-watermarked previews and one credit to remove the watermark. It gives occasional users more check credits than Starter without a recurring charge.
Scale credits — 24.99 USD per once: 30 credits on the same preview and watermark-removal terms. This is the largest listed credit bundle for users who want a one-time purchase rather than a subscription.
Start (monthly) — 10.00 USD per month: two bank accounts, unlimited checks, PDFs ready to print, and storage for the subscription duration. It suits regular users who need watermark-free PDFs and do not need more than two accounts.
Professional (monthly) — 15.00 USD per month: ten bank accounts, unlimited checks, PDFs ready to print, and subscription-duration storage. It is the better match for bookkeepers or businesses handling several accounts, at a higher recurring price.
Start (yearly) — 50.00 USD per year: the same two-account, unlimited-check, watermark-free PDF and subscription-duration storage terms as Start monthly; the plan states a $70 saving. The annual commitment is suited to users confident they will use the service throughout the year.
Professional (yearly) — 75.00 USD per year: the same ten-account terms as Professional monthly, with a stated $105 saving. It lowers the listed annual cost for multi-account users willing to commit for a year.

The credit plans avoid a subscription but limit watermark-free output by the number of credits purchased. Subscriptions remove the check-count cap and extend storage for the subscription period, while yearly plans trade flexibility for the stated savings.

Platforms

CHECKPRINT is delivered on the web and is listed for Android and iOS. Browser access across computers, tablets, and smartphones means users can work without installing desktop software.

Who it's for

CHECKPRINT is a sensible fit for individuals printing checks occasionally, business owners who need multiple output options, and bookkeepers managing more than one bank account. Free works for a short trial of the workflow; credit bundles suit intermittent use; Start fits recurring use with up to two accounts; and Professional fits users managing up to ten. Anyone who needs checks retained beyond the subscription period or a wider finance-management tool should look elsewhere.

Pros and cons

Pro: Checks can be printed on check stock or blank paper, giving users flexibility in supplies and printer setup.
Pro: PDF, print, and email output supports both paper checks and digital sharing.
Pro: Credit bundles provide a non-subscription route to watermark-free checks for occasional use.
Con: Free PDFs carry a watermark and checks are stored for only 30 days, limiting the free plan for regular or archival use.
Con: Credit purchases are finite, while paid subscriptions retain checks only for the subscription duration.
Con: The free plan is limited to one bank account, and even the paid tiers cap accounts at two or ten.

Alternatives

Check Printing Software is a useful place to compare more check-printing options. Zil Money is worth considering if API access or a broader set of platforms matters; its free plan has limited monthly transactions, while its Business plan offers unlimited transactions at a price not listed. ChequePro may suit Windows users who prefer a one-time purchase: its free plan supports one device, up to three bank accounts, and one company, and its Essential plan costs 99.00 USD per once.

SimpleChex is a web alternative with a free plan limited to 10 checks per month, one business, unlimited bank accounts, and one user; it may fit users whose account needs exceed CHECKPRINT Free's one-bank limit but whose check volume is low. SimpleChecks is a web and API option with a Starter plan at 14.99 USD per month, including the first 50 checks and charging 50¢ per check printed or emailed thereafter; it may appeal to users who need API access or secure emailed checks. VersaCheck is a paid option across Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows, so it may suit users seeking broader platform coverage. CheckWriter is another paid option across Android, iOS, macOS, web, and Windows. TROY AssurePay Check is a paid option for web and Windows. CertiflexDimension Ultra MICR Check Printing is a paid Windows option.

Verdict

Choose CHECKPRINT if you need browser-based check creation with flexible layouts, several output methods, and a choice between occasional credit purchases and unlimited-check subscriptions. Its main compromise is that free checks are watermarked and short-lived, while paid storage lasts only as long as the subscription; users who need durable records or broader accounting functions should compare other options.
