Overview

BOOTH is a rental marketplace and shop-management service for barbershop owners and barbers arranging chair or booth rentals. It suits owners who want vacancy listings, renter inquiries and recurring rent collection connected in one place. Its free shop-owner plan removes a monthly subscription, but the 5% platform fee on rent and Stripe processing fees still affect the cost.

BOOTH is live in open beta, so it is best approached as a developing service rather than a settled platform. It is available on Android, iOS and the web.

Key features

Listings and renter management

Owners can post open chairs, receive barber inquiries and manage the hiring pipeline. That gives owners a direct workflow from advertising a vacancy to handling interest, rather than treating listings as a separate task. The dashboard also brings rosters, payments and analytics together, with live shop-activity updates.

Rent, contracts and payouts

BOOTH supports recurring rent through cards on file and automatic payments, and owners can create digital rental contracts with e-signatures. These tools can consolidate payment and agreement administration, though the rent collected through BOOTH carries a 5% platform fee added to the barber’s rent, plus standard Stripe card-processing fees.

Owner payouts run through Stripe Connect, with instant or standard payout options. BOOTH says it does not keep full card numbers, bank account numbers or Stripe credentials on its servers. It describes encryption in transit and at rest, secure authentication, role-based access controls and internal security reviews; Stripe processes payments and is identified by BOOTH as PCI DSS Level 1 certified.

Booking links and rewards

Barber profiles and shop listings can link to booking services including Booksy, Fresha, Squire and The Cut. This lets a listing point renters toward booking tools they already use, rather than replacing those tools. Barbers also earn points on rent paid through BOOTH, redeemable for products in its rewards shop.

BOOTH directs users to help guides and provides contact@boothapp.co for questions. Multi-location support is not included; unified dashboards and cross-shop analytics for multiple locations remain roadmap features. Owners managing several shops should not choose BOOTH expecting a consolidated view today.

Pricing

The shop-owner free plan costs 0.00 USD per free, with no monthly fees, setup fee or credit card required. It includes unlimited shop listings and booth slots, but the 5% platform fee added to barber rent and standard Stripe processing fees still apply. This is a practical starting point for owners who want to list vacancies and collect rent without a subscription; it is not fee-free rent collection.

Paid plans start at $25/mo. A specific paid-plan feature set is not given, so the free plan is the only plan whose included limits can be compared: it has unlimited listings and slots, while multi-location support is unavailable. BOOTH has no free trial; the free plan itself is the no-subscription way to begin.

Platforms

BOOTH is available on Android, iOS and web, giving owners and barbers access across mobile and browser platforms.

Who it's for

BOOTH is a strong fit for independent barbershop owners with chairs to rent who want to publish openings, manage inquiries, formalize agreements and automate recurring rent in one service. Barbers may value a single rental marketplace and points on rent paid through it. It is less suitable for multi-location operators who need unified cross-shop reporting, or for owners who want to avoid transaction fees on collected rent.

Pros and cons

Pro: Unlimited listings and booth slots on the free shop-owner plan let an owner advertise multiple openings without a monthly plan charge.
Pro: Automated recurring payments, e-signable contracts and renter communications bring core rental administration together.
Pro: Booking links accommodate several named booking services, so BOOTH can complement rather than displace a barber’s booking setup.
Con: The 5% platform fee on barber rent is in addition to Stripe processing fees, which owners and renters should factor into the economics.
Con: Multi-location support is absent, and the dashboard and analytics are not yet unified across shops.
Con: Open beta status may make BOOTH a less suitable choice for owners seeking a mature, established rental platform.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison of rental-focused options, see Salon Booth Rental Software.

Consider Salonist if salon appointment management matters more than booth-rental workflows: its free Marketplace Listing plan includes 50 appointments per month, online booking, calendar and scheduling, and staff shift management, while its Essential plan costs 59.00 USD per mo. It also offers a free trial.

Bookables is a better fit for general booking and service estimates on the web: its free plan allows 200 bookings per month and unlimited staff, estimates, services and territories, while a prepaid 1,000-booking pack is 0.50.

For property rather than barber-chair rentals, RentMerchant offers a free plan for up to three properties and a Pro plan at 15.00 USD per month billed annually, with unlimited properties and units, no per-door fees and priority support.

COSALON is another freemium, web-based option. Foohat is also freemium and web-based.

Salon Suite Solutions is a paid option available on Android, iOS and web. Meevo is a paid salon and spa platform without a free plan, available on web, Windows, macOS, iOS and Android; its Lite plan includes five users, 2,500 email contacts and 100 SMS marketing credits, with custom pricing. Orbis Salon is a paid alternative with a free trial and apps for Android, iOS, macOS, web and Windows; its Lite plan costs 4.99 GBP per month, billed £4.99/month, for one staff member, one location, 30 bookings a month and five services, with a 50p booking service fee per booking.

Verdict

Choose BOOTH if you run a barbershop with rentable chairs and want listings, inquiries, contracts and automated rent collection in one service without a monthly fee. Its strongest case is the rental workflow paired with unlimited free listings and slots. Look elsewhere if the 5% platform fee plus Stripe charges undermine your rental economics, if you need multi-location reporting now, or if you prefer a platform beyond open beta.
