Overview

Presel is a web-based pre-sales and RFP response toolkit that pairs bid workflows with document conversion and diagramming. It suits bid managers, commercial teams, and solution architects who need structured proposal work; the free toolkit is useful for document tasks, but it does not include RFP projects or organization seats.

The case for Presel is its combination of evidence-backed response work, reusable content, and practical document tools. The trade-off is that meaningful team use sits behind per-seat plans, and self-serve plans do not currently offer SSO/SAML.

Key features

Bid Manager takes an RFP from intake through requirement extraction and mapping, evidence-backed drafting, quality gates, and controlled Word export. That workflow is a stronger fit for teams managing formal bids than for buyers who only need an AI writing assistant. A reusable content library and approval workflow support consistent answers and review; shared organization workspaces are included with Pro.

Presel also converts Markdown into editable Word and PDF files and imports Word documents back into Markdown. Mermaid and PlantUML diagrams can be created, previewed, and included in documents. These tools give the product uses beyond live bids, though the Free plan's 50 MB personal drive and single knowledge base constrain larger libraries.

Users can bring their own Cursor, OpenAI, or Anthropic provider, or work offline. Optional LLM providers process prompts sent through AI features according to the user's configuration. Accounts use verified email and password, organization roles govern invites and settings, and workspaces can isolate RFPs, knowledge bases, and Drive files by organization. Presel says it does not sell personal data and retains account and workspace data while an account is active. Teams requiring self-serve SAML/OIDC single sign-on should look elsewhere for now: enterprise SSO is on the roadmap, not available in self-serve plans.

Pricing

The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free and includes a 50 MB personal drive, one knowledge base, Markdown-to-Word/PDF conversion, Word-to-Markdown import, and a UML editor. It is a practical starting point for document and diagram work, but it excludes RFP projects and organization seats.

The Trial plan costs 0.00 USD per free and provides everything in Pro for 7 days, including an organization workspace and invites, with no credit card required to explore. It returns to Free toolkit limits if you do not upgrade, so it is a short evaluation rather than an ongoing team tier.

Plus costs 19.00 USD per month, billed at $19/ seat / mo, with annual checkout saving about 20%. It adds 5 GB of drive storage, three knowledge bases, two RFP or proposal projects, one workspace seat, and Word export. It is the entry point for an individual with a small, defined bid workload; the project and seat caps make it a poor fit for a growing team or frequent RFPs.

Pro costs 49.00 USD per month, billed at $49/ seat / mo, with annual checkout saving about 20%. It includes 50 GB of drive storage, unlimited RFPs and knowledge bases, up to five seats, the AI proposal suite and quality gates, shared organization workspaces, and priority email support. This is the clearest fit for a small bid team that needs collaboration and repeatable workflows, although the included seat count is capped at five.

Enterprise costs 99.00 USD per month, billed at $99/ seat / mo, with volume pricing available. It includes unlimited seats, 500 GB of drive storage, a dedicated success manager, custom SLA and DPA, and admin controls and audit support. It fits larger organizations needing those support and governance provisions, but SSO/SAML remains roadmap work and is scoped with sales rather than a self-serve capability.

Platforms

Presel is available on the web. Word and PDF export support taking proposal documents into common file formats, while its diagram tools can be included in those documents.

Who it's for

Presel is best suited to bid managers, commercial teams, and solution architects who want RFP intake, response drafting, review gates, and reusable knowledge in one workspace. It is also useful to individuals who mainly need Markdown/Word conversion or diagrams and can work within the Free plan's storage and knowledge-base limits. It is less suitable for teams that need organization seats on a no-cost plan or require self-serve SSO.

Pros and cons

Pros: Bid Manager covers intake, requirement mapping, evidence-backed drafting, quality gates, and controlled Word export, giving formal response work a defined path.
Pros: Markdown/Word/PDF conversion and Mermaid and PlantUML tools extend its usefulness beyond RFP projects.
Pros: Pro includes unlimited RFPs and knowledge bases, shared workspaces, and up to five seats, a substantial step up for a small team.
Cons: Free excludes RFP projects and organization seats, so it cannot serve as a no-cost team bid workspace.
Cons: Plus is limited to two RFP or proposal projects and one seat, which restricts collaboration and ongoing bid volume.
Cons: Self-serve SSO/SAML is not available, a material gap for organizations that require single sign-on.

Alternatives

1up is worth considering when a free knowledge-answer tool is the priority: its Free plan includes one admin, 50 knowledge uploads, and 50 answers per month. Its listed MCP plan is 50.00 USD per month plus automation usage and includes an MCP server, while Presel offers a broader RFP workflow and document toolkit.

Tenderbolt suits teams that prefer pricing tailored to team size and RFP volume, with custom pricing and a demo-based buying path rather than a generic pricing grid.

Tribble is a relevant alternative for teams focused on RFPs, DDQs, and security questionnaires that want source-cited drafts, confidence context, SME routing, an audit trail, and export to Word, Excel, PDF, and client formats.

Expedience Software is an alternative for buyers considering a paid web and Windows product.

AIRFP is an alternative for buyers considering a paid web product.

Ombud is an alternative for buyers considering a paid web product.

RFP Response Builder may suit teams seeking a paid option with a 14-day trial and a Business plan requiring five users minimum; its Business plan is priced at 39.00 USD per month.

Upland Qvidian is another paid web-based alternative.

Verdict

Choose Presel if your bid team wants a structured RFP workflow alongside reusable content, document conversion, and diagramming, and Pro's five included seats fit your needs. Its strongest reason to buy is that combination in one tool; its clearest reason to look elsewhere is the lack of self-serve SSO/SAML, alongside the absence of RFP work from the free tier.
