Overview

The product concentrates on creating and exporting designs, leaving delivery, automation and customer data in a separate email service provider or CRM. That separation suits teams with an established marketing stack that want a dedicated design workflow. It is the wrong fit if you need one platform to build and send campaigns.

The original Beefree builder evolved into RGE Studio in 2026. Its web-based editor combines drag-and-drop design with custom code editing and custom fonts, giving teams both a visual starting point and room to adapt designs to their brand.

Key features

More than 1,700 email and landing-page templates provide a broad set of starting points. Templates can speed up production, while custom fonts and code editing help designers avoid being confined to preset layouts.

Saved rows can be reused, and synced rows update across designs when changed. This is useful for teams maintaining shared brand elements across campaigns: a common component can stay consistent without manually revising each design. It also makes deliberate ownership of shared content important, since changes propagate.

Designs can leave the editor through native connectors, copied HTML or downloadable ZIP files. Native destinations include Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Account Engagement, HubSpot, Adobe Marketo Engage, Mailchimp, Klaviyo, ActiveCampaign, Constant Contact, Campaign Monitor, Brevo, MailUp, Zoho, Slate, Gmail, Outlook, Amazon SES and SendGrid. A custom connector provides an export route to platforms outside that set, though the workflow still depends on an external system for sending.

Smart Check flags issues such as missing links or subject lines, oversized images and large HTML files. The AI Assistant can add alt text and identify typos and translation issues. These checks can catch common production problems before export, but they do not change the product’s role as a design tool.

Structured semantic HTML, mobile design mode and dark-mode preview support accessibility-minded production. The platform aligns with WCAG 2.2 principles. Beefree’s Trust Center lists EU-US DPF, GDPR, ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and SOC 2 Type 2 compliance.

Pricing

The Starter plan is free, billed $0. It includes up to 10 designs, six exports per month, the landing-page builder and a custom subdomain. That cap makes it suitable for trying the workflow or producing occasional work, but restrictive for a team exporting regularly.

Professional costs 30.00 USD per month, or $25/mo billed yearly. It includes unlimited project folders and reusable content blocks, two seats and an AI writing assistant. This is the more practical fit for a small design team that needs shared reusable assets; the annual-billing price is lower, but requires yearly billing.

Business costs 160.00 USD per month, or $134/mo billed yearly. It adds advanced brand controls, two workspaces, approval workflows and a QA assistant. Those controls are more relevant to teams coordinating review and brand governance than to a solo designer.

Enterprise has custom pricing. It includes multi-step approval workflows, advanced user restrictions, a customer success manager, Okta SSO and real-time third-party integrations. It is aimed at organizations with more involved approval and access-control needs.

The pricing model is freemium and includes a 15-day trial. Professional, Business and Enterprise provide user roles and permissions; multiple workspaces are reserved for Business and Enterprise. Plans include Help Center, Beefree Academy, email support and two-factor authentication, with premium support and Okta SSO listed for higher tiers.

Platforms

RGE Studio is web-based. That keeps the editor accessible through a browser, while the export choices let teams carry designs into their existing services.

Who it's for

Designers who need speed, brand consistency and customization are the clearest audience, especially when working with colleagues who need permissions, approvals or shared workspaces. Teams already using an ESP or CRM can use RGE Studio to create content for that stack. Those seeking campaign delivery, marketing automation or a replacement for an ESP should choose another product.

Pros and cons

Pro: More than 1,700 templates, custom fonts and code editing balance fast starts with brand-level control.
Pro: Reusable and synced rows help teams keep recurring content consistent across designs.
Pro: Multiple export methods and a broad set of native integrations support workflows across many email platforms.
Pro: Smart Check and AI-assisted accessibility and text checks can surface common issues before export.
Con: Sending, automation and customer data remain in an ESP or CRM, so this is not an all-in-one campaign platform.
Con: Starter permits only six exports per month, limiting its usefulness for sustained production.
Con: Multi-workspace support starts at Business, a substantial step up from Professional for teams needing separate workspaces.

Alternatives

Email Design Software is the broader category to explore when comparing design tools.

Choose Canary instead if you want an email client with a unified inbox, read receipts, snooze and pin, and inbox-zero features rather than a design-and-export workflow.

MJML is the alternative to consider if an open-source, MIT-licensed option and free REST API matter more than RGE Studio’s visual template workflow.

Mail Studio offers a free plan restricted to non-commercial use, plus paid plans priced per month; it is an option for desktop users on Linux, macOS or Windows.

Blocks Edit is another freemium email-design option for readers comparing web-based tools.

Dragble offers a free plan with three projects, 10 GB storage, 10 core content blocks and Dragble branding; consider it if those limits suit your needs.

EmailBuilder.ai has a free Playground plan with 10 emails, three templates, 50 AI Assistant calls and five sends or exports, making it an alternative for readers whose needs fit those caps.

GrapesJS Studio SDK Email Editor offers a free Starter plan with 100 AI credits per month, 0.1 GB cloud space, unlimited drag-and-drop edits and HTML/CSS export.

MailEditor is another freemium option for readers comparing email-editor plans and export allowances.

Verdict

Choose RGE Studio if your team needs a focused way to create on-brand emails and landing pages, reuse shared content and export into an existing ESP or CRM. Its templates, synced rows and quality checks support a coherent production workflow. Look elsewhere if you need sending or automation in the same product, or if Starter’s six monthly exports cannot support your volume.
