Overview

The platform spans officer hiring, scheduling, field reports, patrol management, client invoicing, payroll integration, and operational statistics. Operators can see current activity and potential issues, while officer instructions support work in the field. Bringing these tasks together suits companies that need both administrative coordination and oversight of active security work.

Bannerman says it is hand-picking companies, prioritizing those with 5–15 officers serving at least one of its listed areas. That makes the free offer particularly relevant to firms in that size and service-area profile, but a poor assumption for companies outside it.

Key features

Scheduling and monitoring

Performance indicators help inform officer shift assignments, and Bannerman Operator combines professional guard monitoring, performance measurement, and advanced scheduling. Real-time activity visibility and issue alerts give operators a way to focus attention on potential problems. These tools are tailored to security operations rather than being a generic staff calendar; companies seeking only basic shift planning may not need the broader system.

Compliance and field work

Break compliance management, overtime protection, automatic license checks, and qualification tracking address recurring workforce obligations. The overtime calculator is described as compliant and helps optimize overtime hours and track costs, which can help managers weigh coverage against labor expense.

Officers get a free iOS and Android app intended to reduce paperwork and support field work. The combination of mobile reporting and patrol management is useful for teams whose work takes place across sites, while hiring, invoicing, and payroll integration extend Bannerman into back-office operations.

Implementation and support

Bannerman says it provides free training and handles migration; it says supervisors and officers typically take less than two weeks on average to get up and running. Its About page says it guarantees a phone answer and immediate response to questions or requests. The company says it developed the software after building a security guard business to hundreds of officers and tens of millions in annual revenue, giving the product a direct operational origin.

Pricing

Bannerman security officer management software: 0.00 USD per free. Bannerman says it currently distributes the plan free to companies with 5–15 guards in priority areas, serving at least one listed area, through a partner-access approach. For an eligible company, the price is compelling given the breadth of scheduling, reporting, billing, and related tools. The central limitation is access: companies should not treat it as an unconditional free plan, and those outside the target profile may need another option. No paid tier is described.

Platforms

Bannerman is available on web, Android, and iOS. Its free officer mobile app supports iOS and Android field work.

Who it's for

Bannerman is best suited to security companies with 5–15 officers that serve one of its priority areas and want to coordinate scheduling, monitoring, compliance, reporting, and administration in a single system. It is less suitable for companies that cannot qualify for partner access or need a clearly open-ended purchasing route.

Pros and cons

Pros: Security-specific scheduling, live monitoring, patrol management, and performance measurement bring shift coordination and field oversight together.
Pros: Break, overtime, license, and qualification tools address concrete compliance and workforce-management needs.
Pros: The eligible plan is free, and Bannerman says training and migration are included.
Cons: Free access is selective, with priority for firms of 5–15 officers serving at least one listed area.
Cons: Companies outside that eligibility profile have no described paid tier to fall back on.

Verdict

Choose Bannerman if you run a smaller security company that qualifies for partner access and want guard-focused scheduling, compliance, monitoring, and administrative tools without a software charge. Its most important drawback is the selective eligibility: firms outside the target profile should look elsewhere rather than count on the free plan.
