Overview

Asurint is a background-screening service for employers, tenant-screening organizations, and government agencies. It is best for organizations coordinating several types of checks and compliance workflows; buyers who need a one-off check or a price before speaking with sales should look elsewhere.

Founded in 2005 and headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, Asurint offers web and API access. Its personalized demo carries no commitment, but prospective clients start with a demo or sales inquiry rather than self-service purchasing.

Key features

Screening covers criminal and civil searches, identity, employment and education verification, drug and health screening, driving history, motor vehicle reports, sanctions searches, I-9/E-Verify, and continuous monitoring. That range can serve organizations with varied screening policies; it may be more than necessary for buyers who only need a single basic check.

SureSearch combines fulfillment logic, proprietary databases, and a national access network to deliver results. IQ Screen manages clients and orders and can be customized to client criteria, while IQ Direct provides direct-to-source access across over 90% of U.S. jurisdictions. These tools give organizations ways to tailor workflows and reach records, but they are part of a service designed around organizational screening rather than individual use.

IQ Comply automates Pre-Adverse and Adverse Action letters and offers Candidate Adjudication Assistance. These features address important steps in employment screening workflows. Asurint says its data sources comply with GLBA, DPPA, and FCRA, and that it follows HIPAA guidelines for health-related information; organizations remain responsible for choosing and administering checks appropriately.

Integrations include ADP, Avionté, Greenhouse, iCIMS, Workday, and UKG, and Asurint also offers a flexible API. That can suit organizations seeking to connect screening with existing systems. The company says personally identifiable information is securely stored, used for contact purposes within the company, and not sold or shared externally.

The Screen Team is available by phone or email Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST. The candidate platform supports Chrome, Firefox, and Microsoft Edge; Internet Explorer is no longer supported.

Pricing

Asurint uses paid, custom pricing. Its Custom screening solution comprises customized screening services, with pricing discussed through a demo or sales inquiry. There are no published plan prices or self-serve checkout, so organizations should expect to discuss their requirements with the company before budgeting. The personalized demo has no commitment.

Platforms

Asurint is available through web and API access. Its integrations with HR and workforce platforms can help organizations fit screening into existing processes; browser use requires Chrome, Firefox, or Microsoft Edge rather than Internet Explorer.

Who it's for

Asurint is aimed at employers, tenant-screening organizations, and government users that need several screening categories, configurable order management, and adverse-action support. Its range and integrations are most relevant to organizations building repeatable screening workflows. Buyers seeking an individual check, a narrowly scoped service, or transparent pricing without a sales conversation are a weaker fit.

Pros and cons

Pros: Broad screening coverage spans criminal and civil records, verification, health-related checks, driving history, and ongoing monitoring.
Pros: IQ Screen, IQ Comply, and IQ Direct combine order management, adverse-action workflows, and direct-to-source access across over 90% of U.S. jurisdictions.
Pros: Web, API, and integrations with named HR and workforce platforms give organizations multiple ways to connect screening to their processes.
Cons: Custom pricing requires a demo or sales inquiry, making it difficult to compare costs before engaging.
Cons: Internet Explorer is not supported, which may matter to organizations that still rely on it for candidate workflows.

Alternatives

Background Check Software is a useful starting point for comparing screening options.

Consider Accurate Background if you want published package pricing: its Basic Package is 155.00 USD per once (billed Inc GST) and includes police check and identity verification, reference check, and employment history verification. AuthBridge is another paid, web-and-API option with pricing discussed through sales. Justifacts, Background Pro, Cisive, DigiVerifier, and Giant Screening are other paid alternatives with web access. ClearStar is worth comparing if Android or iOS access matters; it offers a paid Standard plan with a National Criminal Database search, the first three county court criminal record checks (pass-through fees apply), and one education verification.

Verdict

Choose Asurint if your organization needs multiple screening types alongside configurable order management and adverse-action workflows, with API and integration options. Its main drawback is the sales-led, custom-pricing process; look elsewhere if you need an upfront price or a focused, self-serve check.
