Overview

AppFollow brings review handling, feedback analysis, and app-market monitoring together. Teams can centralize reviews and use AI to draft personalized replies in different languages while keeping a brand’s tone. That combination is useful when responding to customers is part of a larger effort to spot recurring product issues, rather than a standalone support task.

AI summaries, custom tags, sentiment analysis, and alerts help organize feedback and surface issues. For market work, AppFollow tracks keyword rankings, search downloads, visibility, conversion, ratings, and reviews by market. Competitor monitoring covers public keyword rankings, category positions, ratings, and reviews without requiring access to competitors’ store accounts.

Key features

AppFollow supports sources including App Store Connect, Google Play, Mac App Store, Microsoft Store, Apple Arcade, Huawei AppGallery, Samsung Galaxy Store, Trustpilot, and Steam. This breadth can help teams consolidate feedback across app stores and other review services. Connections include Slack, Discord, email, webhooks, Salesforce, Zendesk, Helpshift, Freshdesk, Front, Intercom, Help Scout, Microsoft Teams, UseDesk, and Tableau; webhooks and an API also let teams send reviews or data to other systems.

Keyword and competitor tracking make AppFollow more than a review inbox, particularly for teams comparing performance across markets. The trade-off is that meaningful coverage depends on plan quotas: the free plan covers only two apps and seven days of historical data.

AppFollow says it received ISO 27001 certification in May 2024. Its Trust Center describes least-privilege access, encryption and anonymization rules, firewalls, centralized logging, and regular penetration tests. It uses AWS, Hetzner Cloud, and Google Cloud Platform, with data stored in Germany and Finland. A Help Center, Academy, and API documentation support users and developers.

Pricing

AppFollow is freemium, with a 10-day trial and paid plans starting at $19/mo (annual). The Free plan costs 0.00 USD per free with no time limit and includes two apps, 10 competitor apps, 100 manual replies per month, and seven days of historical data. It is a practical entry point for a small team testing a narrow workload, but the history window and reply quota constrain ongoing, high-volume use.

ASO costs 19.00 USD per month, billed yearly, and is available as an add-on. It includes two apps, 500 keywords, and 30 competitors, making it the lower-cost option for keyword and competitor monitoring where those limits suffice. Essential costs 179.00 USD per month with monthly billing and raises the limits to five apps, 3,000 keywords, 100 competitors, and 365 days of history. Team costs 599.00 USD per month with monthly billing and covers 15 apps, 9,000 keywords, 250 competitors, and full historical data. The step up from Essential suits teams with wider portfolios and competitor sets; buyers should weigh the higher monthly cost against those larger quotas and longer history.

Enterprise has custom pricing, custom app limits, full AI workflows, advanced Zendesk and Salesforce integrations, anomaly detection, SSO, and a dedicated success manager. It is the plan for organizations needing those capabilities and tailored scale; smaller teams can start with lower tiers, but must work within their stated caps.

Platforms

AppFollow is available on web and through an API. That pairing suits teams working in a browser as well as developers connecting review data to other systems.

Who it's for

Support teams can use centralized reviews and reply workflows, while product teams can use summaries, tags, sentiment, and alerts to identify feedback patterns. ASO and marketing teams gain keyword, visibility, conversion, and competitor monitoring. AppFollow is also presented for gaming and finance teams. It is less compelling for a team that needs only a small, short-lived review inbox or whose app and keyword needs exceed a plan’s limits without room in the budget to move up.

Pros and cons

Pros: Review management and market monitoring share one platform, connecting customer feedback with store-performance work.
Pros: Competitor tracking uses public store information, so teams can monitor rivals without their account access.
Pros: Broad source and integration coverage can route feedback into support, collaboration, analytics, and developer workflows.
Cons: Free coverage is capped at two apps, 10 competitor apps, 100 manual replies monthly, and seven days of history, limiting broader or longer-term monitoring.
Cons: The jump to 179.00 USD per month for Essential is substantial for teams that need more than the two-app ASO allowance or a longer history window.
Cons: The ASO tier is an add-on and billed yearly, so it is a less flexible fit for buyers seeking a standalone monthly commitment.

Alternatives

For a broader view of the category, compare App Store Optimization Software, AI Review Response Generators, and Review Management Software.

ASOdesk is another freemium, web-and-API option; its free plan includes 200 keywords, one application, one teammate, and nine competitor apps per country. Choose it when those free-plan limits align better with a compact ASO workload.

ASOMobile offers a free plan with 20 keywords, two apps, one teammate, 10 competitors, and 100 review responses. It may suit a small team prioritizing those defined free limits.

ASOTools is a freemium alternative with web, API, and extension platforms. KWRDS is a freemium option for iOS and macOS. APPlyzer is a freemium web option. Appstro is a free web option. ASOStacks is a freemium web option. Lumos ASO AI is a free web option.

Verdict

Choose AppFollow if your team needs review replies and analysis alongside keyword and competitor monitoring, especially across several feedback sources. Its strongest case is joining support and market intelligence in one workflow. Look elsewhere if your workload is small enough for a simpler ASO tool, or if the app, keyword, history, or reply caps make the required plan too costly.
