Overview

Animaze is avatar-based entertainment software that animates customizable 2D and 3D characters for streams, videos and calls. It suits creators who want to bring existing models into one workflow, as well as businesses exploring interactive digital characters. Its breadth is a strength, but the right plan depends on the features, content limits and commercial rights you need.

Key features

Animaze accepts Live2D, VRM, Ready Player Me and Union Avatars models; artist documentation also covers GLB/GLTF and FBX. The PC Avatar Editor lets users import and test models made in Live2D or a 3D modeling tool, then export them for Animaze. That flexibility is useful if you already have an avatar pipeline, rather than relying solely on the included content.

Tracking can use a webcam or iPhone, with additional support for Leap Motion, audio-based lip trackers and Tobii eye trackers. Animaze also supports lip sync, full-body and hand tracking, virtual camera output and recording. It integrates with OBS, Streamlabs, Discord, Zoom, Google Meet, Twitch, YouTube and Facebook Gaming, giving creators options for both live broadcasts and calls. The Pro plan's editable Holotech Originals content is capped at 2 avatars, 5 accessories, 2 backgrounds and 3 emotes, so frequent customizers should weigh those limits against the broader import workflow.

For developers, the Enterprise SDK offers cross-platform APIs for adding interactive digital characters to iOS, Android or PC apps, alongside tailored engineering and IP protection tools. EEA privacy terms say camera images and facial tracking data are used at runtime and are not collected, recorded or stored by the company.

Pricing

Animaze has a free Basic plan with 80+ free items. It is a sensible starting point, but Plus is the tier that removes the watermark and adds Animaze Original content, 60 FPS streaming, a dedicated capture window and MP4 export.

Plus: 3.99 USD per month, billed $47.88/year shown. It fits creators who need clean output and higher frame-rate streaming or video export without moving to Pro.
Pro: 9.99 USD per month, billed $119.88/year shown. It includes editable allowances of 2 avatars, 5 accessories, 2 backgrounds and 3 emotes. These finite caps make it less suitable for users who need to customize many Originals.
Small Business: 499.99 USD per year, billed $499.99, for businesses generating less than $175,000. It includes fast-track support, watermark removal, 60 FPS, MP4 export and paid content access.
Business Plus: 1699.99 USD per year, billed $1699.99, for businesses generating more than $175,000. Its listed inclusions match Small Business, with the higher revenue threshold determining fit.
Enterprise: custom pricing, with a tailored company solution, commercial rights, IP protection tools, bespoke engineering and SDK.

Business plans require a separate Live2D commercial license for 2D avatars. The Pro individual plan grants commercial rights to streamers earning $6,000 per year. Check that distinction before relying on a plan for monetized use; business pricing alone does not remove the separate licensing requirement.

Platforms

Animaze is listed for Android, iOS and Windows, and its enterprise APIs target iOS, Android and PC apps. Its broad streaming and meeting integrations make it relevant beyond a single broadcast platform.

Who it's for

Streamers, YouTubers, VTubers, artists and creatives can benefit from importing models and pairing them with multiple tracking options. Businesses have dedicated paid tiers and an Enterprise SDK, though small teams should account for annual plan costs and separate Live2D licensing. FAQ pages, documentation and contact support are provided; business plans add fast-track support.

Pros and cons

Pro: Broad model imports and tracker support accommodate varied creator setups, including existing 2D and 3D assets.
Pro: Streaming, meeting, virtual camera and recording features cover both live and recorded use.
Pro: Enterprise APIs, IP protection tools and bespoke engineering address app-development needs.
Con: Pro limits editable Originals to a modest set of avatars and accessories, which can constrain customization.
Con: Business plans are annual, and commercial use of 2D avatars requires a separate Live2D commercial license.

Alternatives

For a wider range of VTuber and webcam-focused options, browse VTuber Software or Webcam Software. Model-focused creators can also compare 2D Character Animation Software, Motion Capture Software and 3D Character Animation Software.

VTube Studio is worth considering if Live2D model support, webcam or smartphone tracking, and voice-based lip-sync are the priorities; its free plan includes those features.
Webcam Motion Capture may suit users focused on trying tracking features for free, with platforms including iOS, macOS and Windows.
XR Animator is a free alternative listed for Android, Linux, macOS, web and Windows.
nizima LIVE offers a free plan with 40-minute continuous camera use and a displayed logo on Windows and macOS.
veadotube is a free option for Linux, macOS and Windows users.

Verdict

Animaze is a strong fit for creators who want flexible avatar imports, multiple tracking choices and integrations spanning streams, calls and recording. Its business and enterprise offerings extend that appeal to app developers, but individual creators should check Pro's editing caps and anyone using 2D avatars commercially should account for separate Live2D licensing. Look elsewhere if those limits or costs outweigh the value of Animaze's broad workflow.
