Overview

Alyta brings customer checkout and facility administration together: renters can choose a unit, sign an e-agreement, pay online and receive access details, while operators manage spaces, customers, agreements, invoices, orders and tasks. That breadth makes it a plausible fit from a new facility to a multi-site franchise, rather than just a booking page or payment tool.

Its appeal depends on whether an operator will use that connected workflow. Businesses seeking only a small, simple unit register may find the 20-space subscription limit restrictive, while operators coordinating rentals, payments and entry systems have more reason to consider it.

Key features

Space setup and operations

The drag-and-drop Space Builder offers more than 30 components for configuring space details and categories. That can accommodate varied unit types without limiting operators to a fixed catalogue. The cloud dashboard also handles day-to-day records and tasks, and multi-site management supports operators overseeing multiple facilities.

Rentals, payments and access

Self-serve checkout lets customers complete a move-in without staff processing every step. Alyta supports cards, direct bank transfers, cash recording and physical terminals, with Stripe and Ezidebit integrations. Automated billing and delinquency tools address recurring collection work, while the range of payment methods also suits facilities that still accept in-person payments.

Access can be managed through PIN codes, digital keys, cards, FOBs or physical keys, with the ability to grant or disable access remotely. Named access and security integrations include Inner Range Inception and Hikvision HIK-Connect. The mix of credential types is useful for facilities with different entry setups, but operators should choose Alyta only if its integrations match their hardware needs.

Identity and payment safeguards

Alyta offers Shufti Pro third-party AI identity checks and says identity documents can be automatically deleted after 60 days. It also says card details are tokenised and its payment setup is PCI-DSS compliant with PCI-SAQ A. These safeguards address sensitive parts of the rental and payment process, though the identity-check app is optional.

Optional tools

Optional apps include Twilio SMS notifications, Shufti Pro identity verification and Google Maps address verification. These extend notifications and verification workflows, but operators should account for which additions they actually need when assessing their setup.

Pricing

Alyta advertises a free plan and a 14-day free trial; the homepage says no credit card is required for the trial. The paid Self-storage subscription is shown at 49.99 USD per month (billed $49.99 AUD /month for 20 spaces per location). It includes all features and updates, charges only for spaces used, and offers a 10% saving with yearly payment. The 20-space-per-location figure is the key constraint for smaller sites; operators with more capacity should confirm that the subscription fits their facility.

Essentials has custom pricing and is billed monthly. It includes online move-ins and automated bookings, payments and invoicing, access-control integrations, automated notifications, Alyta Learn and support. That package is relevant to operators who want those core workflows but need a quote rather than a published price to assess cost. The trial gives prospective customers two weeks to evaluate the product before committing.

Platforms

Alyta is available on web, Android and iOS, giving operators and customers mobile as well as browser access.

Who it's for

Alyta suits self-storage operators who want online move-ins, payments, facility administration and access management tied together, especially those running more than one location or relying on automated billing and delinquency handling. It is less suited to operators who need a published Essentials price before evaluating the budget, or whose facility size does not fit the 20-space subscription shown.

Pros and cons

Pros: Self-serve checkout combines unit selection, e-agreements, online payment and access details, reducing the steps staff need to process manually.
Pros: Multiple payment methods and named payment integrations accommodate both online and in-person collection.
Pros: Remote access controls and named security integrations make the platform relevant to facilities that want to manage entry alongside rentals.
Cons: The subscription price is tied to 20 spaces per location, which may not fit a larger facility.
Cons: Essentials uses custom pricing, so operators cannot compare its monthly cost from the plan description alone.
Cons: Identity checks and some notifications or verification capabilities depend on optional apps.

Alternatives

Consider CCStorage if a free web-based option or a multi-location website plan at 99.00 USD per month better matches your needs. My Rental Spot Self Storage is worth comparing if you want a free plan with no time or facility limit, mobile apps, online move-in, e-sign leases, billing, autopay and gate PINs. For a very small operation, Spacivity has a free web plan for one location and up to three storage units.

Move and Store may suit businesses that need moving jobs, quotes, CRM, payments and storage records in a free web plan, with a 5% application fee. OpenUnit offers web management and POS software with no monthly fees, charging when a payment is taken. Boxpilote is another option if you want a paid service spanning web, mobile and desktop platforms, with monthly or annual terms. Pickspace is a paid web and mobile alternative; Self Storage Manager is a paid web and Android alternative.

Verdict

Alyta is a strong candidate for self-storage operators who want customer move-ins, facility administration, payments and access control managed as a connected workflow, particularly across multiple sites. Its broad operational coverage and remote entry controls are the main reasons to choose it. Look elsewhere if the 20-space subscription cap is too small or if you need a clear Essentials price before deciding.
