Overview

ABC Trainerize is a fitness coaching platform for trainers and businesses that need to manage programs, client communication, sessions, and billing in one place. Its breadth is useful for coaches with several ways of working, but its entry plans are tightly capped by client seats.

It is strongest for practices that want workout delivery alongside scheduling, messaging, and video coaching. A solo trainer with more than two clients will need to move beyond Grow; larger teams can consider Pro or the multi-location Studio Plus plan.

Key features

Programs and client management

Workout programming and delivery are paired with a client portal, goals and progress tools, and forms and assessments. That gives trainers tools for structuring ongoing coaching as well as tracking client work. The small-seat Basic and Grow plans limit how much of that workflow a new practice can run before upgrading.

Communication and sessions

In-app messaging has basic and advanced options by plan. Scheduling covers appointments, classes, and calendar sync, while video coaching supports live and on-demand classes and virtual sessions. Group coaching and class scheduling make Trainerize a better fit for coaches who run shared sessions than for those seeking only a simple workout log.

Payments and integrations

Integrated payment processing and Stripe integration keep billing within the platform. Grow also includes integrations with client apps and wearables, which is a meaningful addition for coaches who want client activity connected to their coaching workflow.

Pricing

Trainerize has a free plan, paid plans from $9.00 USD per month, and a 30-day trial that requires no credit card and includes unlimited clients. Prices are in USD and may be subject to applicable taxes; annual plans are billed once per year.

Basic: 0.00 USD per free, with one client seat. It is suitable for trying the core coaching setup with a single client, but not for a larger roster.
Grow: 9.00 USD per month, with two client seats. This is the lowest-cost paid option and adds wearable and client-app integrations, but the two-seat cap remains restrictive for a growing practice.
Pro 5 / Pro: 23.00 USD per month, supporting 5 to 200 clients. It is the practical step up for trainers whose roster exceeds two; the range accommodates growth, though the stated minimum is five seats.
Studio Plus: 248.00 USD per month, custom pricing for each location added, with 5+ locations and 500 to 1,000+ client seats. It targets multi-location businesses rather than independent coaches, and the location-based custom pricing matters when estimating total cost.

Platforms

Mobile apps are available for iOS and Android. This gives clients and trainers mobile access, while the client portal supports the broader coaching relationship.

Who it's for

Trainerize suits independent trainers moving beyond ad hoc program delivery, and coaching businesses that combine one-to-one work with classes or group coaching. Its broad toolset is less compelling for a trainer who needs only a low-cost way to serve several clients: Basic and Grow cap seats at one and two respectively, and Pro starts at $23.00 USD per month.

Pros and cons

Pro: Workout delivery, progress tools, forms, messaging, scheduling, and payments sit in one coaching platform, reducing the need to split those workflows across separate tools.
Pro: Video Coaching covers live and on-demand classes as well as virtual sessions, which supports coaches combining individual and group formats.
Pro: The 30-day trial requires no credit card and has unlimited clients, allowing a practice to explore beyond the small free-plan seat cap.
Con: The free Basic plan allows only one client and Grow only two, so the low-cost entry tiers quickly become unsuitable as a client list grows.
Con: Pro's 5-to-200-client range and Studio Plus's multi-location structure may not align neatly with every practice's size or cost expectations.

Alternatives

Consider WeStrive if a free plan for one active client is enough and you want its stated payment processing, custom website, and group messaging. FitPros.io is worth considering for a free plan with unlimited clients, workout building, client apps, forms, habit tracking, and a website builder; it does not offer a free trial.

FitSW may suit a trainer who wants a selectable 5-to-1,000-client limit on its $16.66 USD per month Premium for Trainers plan. Choose My PT Hub if its Starter plan's three clients, 50 workouts, and 50 nutrition plans fit your needs; it is $22.50 USD per month when billed annually and paid monthly.

Everfit offers a free Starter plan for up to five clients, a higher free-plan client cap than Trainerize Basic or Grow. Trainerfu offers a $75.00 USD per month Branded App plan with branded iOS and Android apps. FitConnect Pro and FitSync are also freemium alternatives.

Verdict

ABC Trainerize is a strong choice for trainers and coaching businesses that want programming, communication, scheduling, video sessions, and billing gathered around the client relationship. Its central drawback is capacity at the low end: one free seat and two Grow seats make it a poor long-term fit for a larger roster unless the Pro price and client range work for the practice.
