Vuuv is a business app for contractors that brings together bookkeeping, tax reports, invoicing, payments, mileage tracking, CRM, and job-costed projects. Project tools cover job costing, change orders, retainage, cost codes, and project-level profit and loss. Projects support fixed-price, time-and-materials, cost-plus, and unit-price contracts. Pro and Elite include AIA-style payment applications and certificates with a continuation sheet and project Schedule of Values. Field features can suggest a current job for receipts using project locations, attribute mileage, and connect GPS-stamped progress photos with a project. Vuuv AI can answer questions about project books and extract project and receipt details for user review. The app runs on Android, iOS, and web. Plus is free. Pro costs $12 per month after $0 for 30 days and $1 per month for three months; Elite costs $18 per month. Pro includes one team member and 10 monthly e-signatures, while Elite includes 10 team members and 25 monthly e-signatures.

Freedom251 review

Vuuv: the full review

Vuuv combines contractor business functions with project accounting and field features. Compare team and e-signature limits with your workflow before choosing a plan.

Vuuv is a contractor-focused business app that combines bookkeeping and project accounting with field tools. It is best suited to independent contractors and smaller teams that want job finances alongside invoicing and mileage. Its free tier is generous on everyday transactions, while project billing and team features require a paid plan.

Overview

Vuuv brings bookkeeping, tax reports, invoicing, payments, mileage tracking and CRM together with job-costed projects. Contractors can track costs, change orders, retainage, cost codes and project-level profit and loss across fixed-price, time-and-materials, cost-plus and unit-price contracts. That breadth makes it more relevant to managing project economics than a standalone invoicing or mileage app, but buyers should check the paid plans’ user and e-signature ceilings against their workflow.

Key features

Project accounting and billing

Job costing and project-level profit and loss help contractors follow a job’s financial performance; change-order and retainage tracking cover important contract needs. Pro and Elite add AIA-style applications and certificates for payment, including a continuation sheet and project Schedule of Values. Contractors who rely on progress billing need one of those plans; Plus does not include those construction billing tools.

Field records and AI

Project locations can suggest the active job for receipts, associate mileage with a project and connect GPS-stamped progress photos to a project. Those links can help keep field records attached to the right work. Vuuv AI answers natural-language questions about project books and extracts project, cost code, payee and category from receipt images for review, rather than leaving those extracted details unverified.

Integrations and security

Live integrations include Plaid, eBay, Stripe, SignWell, Amazon Seller Central, Apple App Store and Google Play Store; Etsy, Square, Patreon, Upwork and YouTube are marked as coming soon. Vuuv says integrations use OAuth 2.0, bank connections run through Plaid and connections are read-only where applicable. Its privacy policy says Firebase encrypts data in transit and at rest and identifies SOC 1, SOC 2, SOC 3 and ISO 27001 compliance or certification for that infrastructure.

Pricing

Vuuv has free plans, a 30-day trial and paid plans from $6 a month. The distinction that matters is that its free bookkeeping option is not the same as a free project-accounting plan.

  • Plus — 0.00 USD per free: Unlimited transactions and invoices and estimates, up to 3 rental units, and 5 lifetime AI receipt scans before photo-only receipts. It suits users who need basic business records, but the lifetime scan allowance is small for regular receipt capture and this plan does not include projects.
  • Drive Free — 0.00 USD per free: 40 GPS trips a month and one vehicle. It works for light mileage tracking, but frequent drivers or multi-vehicle businesses will hit its caps.
  • Drive — 6.00 USD per month: Mileage tracking only, with unlimited GPS trips and vehicles, manual mileage entry and IRS-compliant mileage reports. This is the focused choice for mileage rather than project accounting.
  • Pro — 12.00 USD per month: Unlimited businesses and properties and transactions, projects, Vuuv AI and bank sync, with 10 e-signatures per month and 1 team member. The introductory billing is $0 for 30 days, then $1 a month for 3 months, and $12 a month after that. It is the entry point for contractors needing project tools, but the single-seat limit makes it a solo-operator plan.
  • Elite — 18.00 USD per month: Everything in Pro, 25 e-signatures a month and 10 team members. The extra capacity better fits a small crew, though the e-signature allowance remains finite.

Pro and Elite are the plans that include AIA-style progress-billing documents. The step from Pro to Elite is therefore chiefly about team capacity and more monthly signatures, not a different project-accounting feature set.

Platforms

Vuuv is available on Android, iOS and the web, giving users mobile and browser access.

Who it's for

The Projects page names general contractors, remodelers, specialty trades and custom home builders. Pro is most compelling for a contractor working alone who needs job costing and progress billing; Elite is a better fit when up to 10 team members need access. Businesses that need more than 25 e-signatures monthly or more than 10 team members should look beyond these construction plans.

Support is available by email, in-app request or contact form, with typical replies within 24 hours on business days. Vuuv Software LLC gives its address as Clarendon Hills, Illinois 60514.

Pros and cons

  • Pro: Job costing, retainage, cost codes and project profit-and-loss reporting sit alongside bookkeeping, invoicing and field records, reducing the need to separate those contractor workflows.
  • Pro: The free Plus plan has unlimited transactions and invoices and estimates, while Drive Free provides a no-charge mileage option.
  • Con: Plus lacks projects, and its five lifetime AI receipt scans limit the usefulness of automated receipt capture over time.
  • Con: Pro is limited to one team member and 10 monthly e-signatures; even Elite tops out at 10 team members and 25 signatures.

Alternatives

For a broader comparison, browse Construction Accounting Software.

  • BuildSuite is the stronger direction for buyers who prioritize open-source control: its Core application is MIT-licensed and can be run, changed and built on without obligation to its maker.
  • Trimble Viewpoint Vista suits organizations weighing cloud-hosted and on-premises deployments; pricing is by contacting sales.
  • JOBPOWER is another paid contractor-software option; its maker says it has worked with contractors since 1985.
  • Acumatica Construction Edition is worth considering when a buyer wants unlimited users and custom pricing based on applications, usage, resource needs and deployment.
  • Eque2 Construction is another paid construction-software option, with a demo or call offered.
  • Jonas Premier is a paid option with personalized quotes based on company size and needs, and no free trial.
  • maestro*ERP is a paid alternative for buyers choosing modules and functionality around business requirements.
  • CMiC is a paid option organized around General Contractor, Sub-Contractor and Heavy Highway use cases.

Verdict

Choose Vuuv if you are a solo contractor or small crew that wants project accounting, contractor billing and field records alongside core business bookkeeping at a low monthly price. Its combination of job costing and AIA-style progress billing is the clearest reason to choose it; look elsewhere if your team or signature volume exceeds Elite’s limits.
