Uthana

What Uthana is
Uthana provides human motion models, motion data, and embodiment technology for robotics, simulations, and 3D characters. It generates editable 3D movement from text or video, including full-body skeletal motion with finger movement derived from ordinary video. Controllable locomotion, motion stitching and looping, auto-rigging, and character generation are also listed. Movement can be retargeted between bipedal character skeletons or adapted to a target humanoid robot representation. Robot retargeting does not provide a complete control policy or dynamics model, and does not guarantee that hardware can execute the motion. Self-serve exports include FBX, GLB, and BVH, with destination-specific FBX presets for Unreal Engine 5 and Roblox Studio. Uthana offers a GraphQL API and public plugins for Blender and Maya. Its Studio Motion Dataset contains 250+ hours of studio-captured motion, and more than 1,000 hours across collections are available to license. Paid usage includes commercial use of generated outputs under its Terms of Use. Uthana stopped offering new subscriptions in August 2026; existing subscribers can keep their current plan unless they switch. Listed plans range from $0.01 a month for Stitching and looping 2.0 to $0.75 a month for Character generation.
Who it suits
Uthana lists robotics and AI labs, simulation teams, 3D platforms, game engines, studios, developers, and individual creators among the users it serves. It suits workflows that need editable motion or character tools for Blender, Maya, Unity, or Unreal Engine.
What it does well
- Generates editable 3D motion from text or video.
- Exports FBX, GLB, and BVH.
- Offers a GraphQL API and Blender and Maya plugins.
- Paid usage includes commercial use of generated outputs.
- More than 1,000 hours across collections are available to license.
What to know first
- New subscriptions stopped in August 2026.
- Robot retargeting does not provide a complete control policy.
- Blender plugin requires an account, API key, and internet connection.
- Maya plugin requires Maya 2023+ and Python 3.9+.
Limits
Auto-rigging is listed for character files up to 30 MB. Robot retargeting produces motion in the target representation but does not include a complete control policy or dynamics model, and does not guarantee hardware executability.

Getting started
- Visit https://uthana.com/.
- Use the API or web platform.
- For Blender, use Blender 4.0+, create an Uthana account, obtain an API key and connect to the internet.
- For Maya, use Maya 2023+ with Python 3.9+ and Maya’s FBX plugin.
- Export motion as FBX, GLB or BVH.
Verdict
Uthana brings motion generation, retargeting, and export tools together for 3D and robotics workflows. New subscribers cannot sign up, and robot retargeting alone does not make motion hardware-executable.
Questions
What does Uthana cost?
Listed plan prices range from $0.01 a month for Stitching and looping 2.0 to $0.75 a month for Character generation. Other listed plans include text-to-motion, video-to-motion, locomotion and auto-rigging.
Can new users subscribe?
Uthana stopped offering new subscriptions in August 2026. Existing subscribers can remain on their current plan indefinitely unless they switch.
Which platforms and host apps does it support?
Uthana is available as an API and web product. Supported host apps include Blender, Maya, Unity and Unreal Engine.
What formats can I export?
Self-serve motion exports include FBX, GLB and BVH. Destination-specific FBX presets are available for Unreal Engine 5 and Roblox Studio.
Can generated outputs be used commercially?
Paid usage includes commercial use of generated outputs, subject to Uthana’s Terms of Use.
What does robot retargeting provide?
It adapts human motion to a target humanoid robot representation. It does not itself provide a complete control policy or dynamics model, or guarantee hardware executability.
