The record

Purpose: The online software formats Word manuscripts for authors and self-publishers into Kindle/KDP ebooks, validated EPUB files, print interiors, agent-standard manuscripts, and poetry layouts.
Input and output: Users can upload a DOCX manuscript and receive files including PDF, EPUB, and DOCX formats.
AI use: AI identifies manuscript structure, including chapters, scene breaks, and headings styled as bold text rather than marked as headings.
Text handling: The maker says the software does not rewrite, reorder, or shorten prose, while punctuation styling changes are counted in a report.
Publishing standards: The five formatters cover Shunn-standard manuscripts, Kindle/KDP EPUBs, validated EPUB 3, print interiors, and poetry layouts.
Free tools: The site offers free EPUB validation, front matter generation, margin and gutter calculations, and spine calculations without an upload limit.
Supported use: The software supports chapters, subheadings, scene breaks, front and back matter, contents pages, ebook navigation, KDP print geometry, poetry line breaks, and plain-English layout changes.
Limitations: It does not yet support footnotes or endnotes, indexes, structured bibliographies, images inside print interiors, fixed-layout books, or hardcover-specific interiors.
Privacy and AI data: The privacy policy says only a structural outline, including paragraph positions, formatting tags, and the first 120 characters of text, is sent to Anthropic's Claude; full chapters are not sent.
Training and retention: The maker says uploaded writing is not used to train models, free files are deleted after 24 hours, and unlocked files after 7 days unless extended.
Payment security: The privacy policy says card details go directly to Stripe and never reach the maker's servers.
Support: Support is available at [email protected], and the maker asks users to allow a day or two for a reply.
Refunds: The contact page says users may request a refund within 30 days of purchase without giving an explanation.
Operator and location: The software is operated by Lucidarc Digital - FZCO, whose listed premises are in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
