StoryWeaver is a free web repository of open-licensed, multilingual children’s stories from Pratham Books. Readers can browse stories for early and more fluent readers, including material about math, science, history, and emotional intelligence. Parents, educators, writers, translators, and illustrators can use it to create reading resources: users can write storybooks, select illustrations from the platform, and publish their work. Translation tools support transliteration in 12 languages and dictionary help in over 100 languages; translation work can also be done offline and synced later. Stories can be downloaded as web-resolution PDFs, A4 print-ready files, or ePub files, and an Offline Library supports reading without an internet connection. Stories and illustrations use the Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 license, while Readalongs and videos use CC BY-NC-ND 4.0. The platform’s released code is under the MIT license, with a Rails backend and ReactJS frontend. StoryWeaver is maintained by Pratham Books, a not-for-profit children’s book publisher.
