What Saber is

Saber is an application for creating and organising handwritten notes on Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, and Windows. Notes and settings can sync between devices, but cloud syncing is optional and the app works without it. Users may select a Nextcloud server or the official Saber server for storage. Notes are encrypted before cloud transfer, preventing the server owner from reading their contents; the server can still see metadata such as note size, count, encrypted names, and edit or sync times. Notes can be placed in unlimited nested folders, while recent notes appear from the home screen. Its highlighter renders beneath text and does not overlap itself or change color when an area is highlighted again. Dark mode also darkens the notes. Optional Sentry reporting starts only after consent and an app restart. Saber’s source is public under GPLv3. The Free plan provides 5 GB for free. Standard, Premium, and Hoarder list 10 GB, 50 GB, and 100 GB, with prices not listed. Forgetting the encryption password loses data access.
