What Migadu is
Migadu is an email-hosting service for custom domains, offering unlimited email addresses and domains. It works with SMTP, IMAP4, POP3, and webmail, without requiring proprietary protocols or clients. Standard email applications using secure, non-obsolete communication protocols can connect. You can create simple or rule-based aliases, catchalls, and SIEVE filters through ManageSieve. Built-in DNS supplies prepared email records, and Migadu offers help with DNS setup without extra fees. The service includes mailbox backups for restoration after malware or user mistakes, and provides an API for managing domains, mailboxes, identities, forwardings, aliases, and related settings; its documentation calls the API early beta. Migadu says traffic is encrypted, data is protected with access controls and monitoring, and processing follows EU GDPR and Swiss data law. Support is available by email and ticket, not phone or chat. Plans are paid, with a free trial and no free plan.
