Metrognomicon

What Metrognomicon is

Metrognomicon is an iPhone metronome for practicing passages and pieces with planned tempo changes. It plays sequences of tempo segments and changes tempo automatically. Each segment can be set by beats or time, and the sequence can either repeat or play once and stop. Tempo ranges from 40 to 240 BPM, with a slider or tap tempo for setting it. The app provides six click sounds and an optional count-off that plays the final four beats before a tempo change. Its listed themes are light, dark, and Brushed Metal. The maker describes it as intended for classical players, students practicing difficult passages, and people working on music that changes tempo. The app runs on iPhone, makes no network connections, and keeps sequences and preferences on the device. It is free and supports offline use. The App Store listing says it is only for iPhone. Support is available by email; the maker suggests including the device model, iOS version, and app version when reporting a problem.
