What Liquid Music is

Liquid Music is a music software plugin for developing song ideas, beats, chord progressions, melodies, basslines, and rhythms through a visual workflow. It is designed for songwriters, producers, and composers, and its maker says the approach does not require music theory or instrument knowledge. The plugin organizes ideas into five layers: Sketch, Key, Chords, Voice, and Rhythm. In Sketch, users draw a melodic shape and Liquid Music selects notes that fit the harmony while following its contour. The Chords Panel offers a Chord Suggester that recommends a next chord based on sequence frequency in its dataset, plus a sequencer for arranging progressions. The Rhythm Layer changes note timing, duration, and velocity while keeping the melody and harmony in place. Liquid Music runs inside a host DAW rather than on its own and is available in VST, AU, AAX, and Max for Live formats. It supports Windows 7, 8, or 10 and macOS/OSX 10.8 or later. WaveDNA offers a free 30-day trial, but no free plan.
