Instead of Greenmask
Greenmask alternatives
Greenmask prepares database copies through logical backups, anonymization, synthetic data generation, and restoration. Deterministic and random transformers support dynamic parameters and custom domain-based rules, while validation can show transformation warnings, data differences, and schema differences. It currently supports PostgreSQL, stores dumps in local directories or S3-like storage, and integrates with CI/CD workflows. Parallel dumping, restoration, and pgzip compression are available. Greenmask is a free, open-source utility for self-hosted Linux and macOS deployments.

You may prefer another product for broader database coverage, Windows support, or controls outside transformed dumps. Greenmask handles one database engine and provides no activity monitoring, access governance, audit reporting, or threat detection. Consider whether you need reusable masked copies or instead require live access controls, query auditing, endpoint and network protection, secret management, or enterprise data discovery. Database compatibility, deployment model, platform support, and the cost of paid software should shape the switch, especially when Greenmask has no paid plan and Windows installation is not supported yet.
