What GoodTrust is

GoodTrust combines online estate planning with a Digital Vault for organizing and protecting a person’s digital life and legacy. Its Estate Plan includes a Last Will and Testament, revocable living trust, financial power of attorney, advance health care directive, funeral directive, and pet directive. GoodTrust describes the Will and Trust as attorney-crafted for the customer and their family, and says its estate plans are valid in all 50 states. Each adult family member may create their own Will or Trust at no additional cost.

The web-based Digital Vault holds online accounts, digital assets, devices, documents, and other information for sharing with trusted contacts. Users can choose which items a contact can access and whether access is granted now, after their passing, or never. GoodTrust says it is SOC 2-certified, uses SSL with 2048-bit certificates for communications and AES-256 for stored personal data and files, and requires two-factor authentication at sign-in. Membership includes unlimited support seven days a week. The Estate Plan costs $149, paid once and includes one year of unlimited updates. Estate documents are valid only in the United States; the Digital Vault and Memories features are available internationally.
