Free Download Manager (FDM) is a download accelerator and organizer that splits files into sections and downloads those sections at the same time. Interrupted transfers can resume from their stopping point, and the software also supports BitTorrent downloads. Its scheduler can start or pause downloads, launch applications, and connect or disconnect from the internet at set times. Traffic modes help manage use when browsing and downloading concurrently. FDM can preview audio and video before a download finishes and convert file formats afterward. Official Chrome and Firefox extensions provide browser integration, while the Elephant add-on adds video downloading support from various sites. An Android device can create downloads on a remote PC or Mac if FDM is installed on both devices. The listed plan costs 0.00 USD per free, has no ads, and accepts optional donations. Platforms include Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and browser extensions. Its privacy policy describes collecting profile information, network settings, and user-provided cookies, plus interaction analytics it says are not personally identifiable.
