The record

Purpose: Entropy is an open-source desktop app for configuring keyboards and other input devices running Vial-QMK or Vial-RMK firmware.
Device support: It supports compatible keyboards, macropads, trackballs, touchpads, encoders, and modular input devices over USB or Bluetooth when the firmware supports those connections.
Layout editing: Users can configure keys, layers, encoders, keycodes, macros, Combos, Tap Dance, and Key Overrides.
Firmware controls: Available controls include Auto Shift, Tap-Hold, One Shot, Mouse Keys, RGB, Layer LEDs, displays, modules, and pointing devices, depending on firmware capabilities.
Import and export: Entropy supports editable .entlayout configurations and exports layouts as PNG, SVG, and PDF.
Desktop tools: The app includes a Matrix Tester, a separate Layout Indicator window, a Text Expander, and a Typing Trainer.
Integrations: Live integrations cover time, volume, media, and the operating-system layout; Linux Text Expander input uses IBus.
Privacy: The download page states that Entropy requires no account and has no cloud service.
License: Entropy is open source under the GPL-3.0-or-later license.
Compatibility limit: Entropy currently communicates with Vial-compatible HID devices, and browser-only configuration and mobile platforms are out of scope.
Platform limit: Public builds are available for Linux x86_64, Windows x86_64, and macOS on Apple Silicon or Intel; the Windows and macOS builds are unsigned, and macOS builds are not notarized.
Linux setup: Linux users may need to install Vial udev rules to access a device, and IBus plus its Python bindings for Text Expander input.
Updates: Entropy can automatically check for firmware updates on supported Ergohaven RMK devices.
Maker: The GitHub project describes Entropy as built by Ergohaven.
