EloqKV

What EloqKV is
EloqKV is a distributed key-value store that accepts the Redis API and is designed for durable, consistent operation. EloqData says it keeps hot data on NVMe rather than DRAM while offering in-memory-level throughput and P99.99 tail latency. It is compatible with Redis 7.0, with recommended clients including Jedis 4.0+, redis-py 4.5.0+, and go-redis v9+. Clients can connect to any cluster node, which can redirect requests to the node holding a key. EloqData describes clusters as strongly consistent; a partitioned node can refuse external requests until it rejoins. EloqKV supports clustering, the Redis API, the Redis Cluster protocol, and both persistence modes. Values can be up to 256 MB. Commands such as DBSIZE, INFO, FLUSHDB, and SCAN aggregate results across nodes. CONFIG SET and CONFIG GET currently support only slowlog-log-slower-than and slowlog-max-len. Concurrent transactions can conflict and abort, so MULTI/EXEC is not guaranteed even on one node. EloqCloud offers a free tier with up to three clusters per organization and 25 GB of storage.
Who it suits
EloqKV suits developers needing a Redis-compatible store for distributed, durable workloads, whether self-hosted or deployed through EloqCloud. It also fits teams using supported Redis clients and clustering protocols.
What it does well
- Redis 7.0 compatibility
- Strongly consistent cluster description
- Supports self-hosted and cloud deployment
- Values can reach 256 MB
- Free cloud tier includes three clusters
What to know first
- MULTI/EXEC transactions can conflict and abort
- CONFIG support is limited to two parameters
- Free cloud tier has fixed quotas
- Some enterprise features are unavailable on the free tier
Verdict
EloqKV offers Redis compatibility with distributed consistency, clustering, and NVMe-based storage. Its transaction and configuration limits should be checked against application requirements before deployment.
