Dynamic Wallpaper Studio

What Dynamic Wallpaper Studio is

Dynamic Wallpaper Studio replaces static Mac backgrounds with live wallpapers for desktops and screensavers. It offers a free plan and a library of more than 5,000 selected live wallpapers, updated regularly. The maker also lists more than 300 exclusive wallpapers created with artists from Wallpaper Engine. Users can search by keyword across categories such as 4K Ultra HD, Anime, Nature, Pets, Games, Movies, and AI Art.

Playback can use a single loop, a looping playlist, or shuffle. The app supports 4K and ultrawide aspect ratios and can display different wallpapers on each screen. Users can also import local videos as live wallpapers. Playback can pause while other apps are in use, when the device is unplugged, or after a chosen period of inactivity.

Additional controls include custom break reminders, hiding desktop icons, and global hotkeys for wallpaper and screensaver controls. The App Store lists the app for Mac only and requires macOS 12.0 or later. It identifies Aesthetic Apps & Widgets srl as the developer and seller. The App Store reports that identifiers and usage data may be used to track users across other companies’ apps and websites, while Apple says it has not verified that information. Premium features are available through weekly and yearly subscriptions.

Who it suits

It suits Mac users who want rotating live wallpapers, multiple-display support, or the option to use their own videos as backgrounds. People who want desktop controls such as playback pauses, break reminders, or wallpaper hotkeys may also find its features useful.

Limits

The App Store requires macOS 12.0 or later. Premium app features are offered through subscriptions: Weekly premium is $2.99 a month (billed Weekly; the App Store lists the subscription length as weekly), and Yearly premium is $29.99 a year (billed Yearly).
